Mrs. Dian Fullmer took her baby Teresa back to Salt Lake Monday to the doctor (a specialist). She is doing real good now. I received a nice greetings for my birthday from Mr. Frank Timp son of Glendale, Calif. Karl and Eleanor Murray had a nice trip for about two weeks, visiting vis-iting In Barstow, Calif, with Joan' and Charles Sledge; then to Bakers field to see Karl's brother, Hugh I and family; then a week in Yuba City with Marilyn and Jerry Blan-j che and three little girls; then they went to Colfax, Calif, to see' Raleigh and Peggy Franklin. On their way home over Donner's Pass they were in a real blizzard and , were glad to get home to find1 some snow here and their well had lost its prime. Such is life. Mrs. Phylls Johnson went with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Bennett of Holden toj Manti Wednesday to the funeral' of her aunt, Mrs. Sara D. Our son-in-law, Dave Poulsen. Tooele is steadily improving after his recent operaton. He will be allowed al-lowed to go home Tuesday from the Tooele Hsptal. Mrs. Arnold Petersen is ill in Lay ton with hepatitis, a liver ailment, but sems to be getting better. Her aunt and Diane Petersen are caring for her children. Mrs. Rae Petersen is home from Calif, where she has been for a week. Mr. Warren Petersen and lady friend were her over the weekend and attended Sunday school 'n Sutherland. He is working in Salt Lake at present. Congratulations Inez and Bob on your first grandchild, what a cute name, Kimberly. Mrs. Jim Anderson (Dixie Lynn Tolbert) and three children of Salt Lake spent the weekend at the Lloyd Tolbert home. SECOND WARD AREA NEWS BRIEFS EDDYS BARBEN Mr. Richard Barney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Barney of Martinez, Mar-tinez, Calif., and Miss Holly Powell of San Diego, Calif., students at he BYU were weekend guests and had Thanksgiving dinner at the home of Richard's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vert Barney. Twelve people, members of 2nd Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gardner, Gard-ner, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Twitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. S. Bassett, Mr. and Mrs. June Black,, Mrs. Fon-tella Fon-tella Bishop, Lela Maxfield, Vera Hilton and Louisa M. Lyman spent Thursday at the Manti Temple. The members of the 2nd Ward welcome Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Church and their family back into the ward. They have just bought Bishop Willard Stephenson's home. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kimber help ed Boyd and family move Saturday. Satur-day. They are now living in Taylors ville where Boyd is looking for em ployment. Lucille andd Albert took a load of furniture up for Boyd and stopped in Draper to visit two of Albert's sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lloyd of Draper and Mrs. Phoebia Orr of Homedale, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kimber received re-ceived word recently that their son in- law, Mr. Boyd Wareniski, had just graduated as an electrical engineer. en-gineer. They live in North Salt Lake. Mrs. Verdella Adams, Gloria and Joan spent Saturday in Provo on business. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Leishman and three boys spent Wednesday in Provo on business. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Carter of Ely spent last Sunday at the Grant Crane home visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Ottis Peterson of Orem were visitors at their daughter's daugh-ter's home this weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Wally Wright. They attended church in the 2nd Ward and assisted assis-ted with the blessing and naming of Wally and Joan's new baby daughter, she is a doll, her name is Gena. Miss Gwen Theobald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Verue (Shirlty Wright) Theobald of North Ridge, Calif., nd her roommate, Sharlene of Hawaii, students at CSU were guests of Gwen's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wright and spent Thanksgiving with the Wright farn ily. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wright had their family and guests for Thanks giving dinner last week. Miss Betty Rae Wright and Kent Tucker and Kent's parents of Og-den Og-den were vistors this weekend at the Ronald Wright home. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Turner and daughters went to the Temple last Thursday. Recent visitors at the Lyle Bunker Bun-ker home were Lorna's parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Kalanquin of El Cajon, Calif.," and Lorna's sister, Winter has come to the desert in full force. The temperatures are dropping very low and the ground is covered with a blanket of snow. Our bazaar was very successful. We sold almost every thing we had. We had a very large crowd, almost all of the desert residents came and since most of them had company for the holidays, they brought their guests. Leo Lee is busy Snaking preparations prepara-tions to move. We are sorry to see the 1-ee family leave Trout Creek. Mearna Lee is still in Salt Lake, she is out of the hospital again. We hope this time she will continue contin-ue to improve. LAURA BRADFIELD Eddie Dutson received word of the death of his brother, LaVar, ' Monday, Nov. 27. Funeral services were held in Kearns Nov. 30. Our sympathy goes out to the Dutson family. Mr. and Mrs. Don Bradfield and son, Giant and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Bradfield spent Saturday in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Carpenter of Hinckley visited at the Lowell Wil kins home last Thursday. LaWrene Bradfield went to Cedar Ce-dar Friday and Saturday with the music dept. of Delia High for a VENICE DAVIS music clinic. She said it was a mar velous experience. The Union Pacific Rail Road had a coal train derailment here at Howard Nielson's crossing. Six cars went off the track and a long stretch of track was torn up. The men worked part of Saturday night and all day Sunday getting the track repaired. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen made a trip to Bountiful to visit for a few days with their new grandson, the new baby of Mr. and Mrs. Val Sorenson. Elva Stone made a trip during the week to Provo with friends and relatives. Doris Abbott is home again after a visit to Layton with Mr. and Mrs. Billie Mills and family and to Span ish Fork and other places North. We welcome her home again. Mr. and Mrs. Curt Shields came home for a few days from Phoenix where they have their Winter work We welcome them home again too. Mrs. Leo Davis had a quilting Wednesday. Volunteer workers came to help with Chuck's quilt and wedding gifts. Stella Shurtz, Ireta Shurtz, Yvonne Shurtz, Roxie Losee, Ruth Losee, Tressa Jenson, Henrietta Barben and Marie Barben Mr. and Mrs. Bob Clark and Ru-fus Ru-fus Clark made a trip to Salt Lake during the week. A correction from last week, Mr. and Mrs. Josh Robison of Fillmore had Thanksgiving with Mr. and Mrs. Elden Shurtz and family also Mr. an Mrs. Jay Shurtz and family, instead of in Fillmore as quoted. Mr. and Mrs Glen Losee and fam ily made a trip to Spanish Fork last weekend. A special meeting was called Sunday night for a lecture on In dian customs of the Hopi Indian and their connection to the Book of Mormon by Lulu Brinkerhoff of Bountiful. A good crowd attended. Dr. Lyman and his wife also attended. atten-ded. Ireta Shurtz sponsored it. It was very outstanding and we wish she could come again and more people hear her. Mr. Jay Stone made a trip to Salt Lake with his boss during the week. Artie Hill wrote his parents that he had the pleasure of baptizing fifteen members to the church. "Congratulations." The Oasis Ward Relief Society Bazaar was held last Thursday although al-though we had an extra big snow storm, it didn't hinder the crowd. They served a lovely supper and sold many fine articles .Everyone had a good time. Mr. Ralph Skeem came home to spend his birthday. He and Shirley, Mr. Thurlo Wiley, of Granger, and Arlo Skeem, spent last week on Lake Powell boating with their new boat. They all came back w'th sunburned noses to find snow here. Bishop Russell Styler took the Boy Scouts to Ephriam Saturday for a real good warm swin. They all had fun. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Gillen spent a day in Salt Lake checking with Gregory's doctor. Mrs. Hilda Gillen is now visiting her son, Deon and Leaveane Gillen and is planning to spend the win ter here. Ann Marie Day was home from BYU this week.
