The fam-lies fam-lies are near to us after living here so many years. Phyllis and Garland Johnson went to Las Vegas Monday and back Tuesday to visit Garland's mother, who has had an operation. Mr. pnd Mrs. Laurence Bradfield and Margaret Bradfield of Leamington Leam-ington went to Scipio Wednesday to see Vernon Bradfield who is very ill. Ila Mae Overson and Kristine Tolbert were here from CSU at Cedar for the weekend. Kristine had a girlfriend, Cherry Casper with her. At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins over the weekend was their daughtere, Enla and her husband, Junior Baird and children and Mill Hansen of Richfield. The men spent Saturday cutting down and hauling away a huge tree from Lowell's yard. Alma Banks of Manti spent sever al days in Lynndyl last week clean ing his yard. Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Over son and son, Keith, went to Salt Lake and nttended the missionary reunion of the Northern Indian Mission. They said it was a wonder ful experience. Many people from here attended the wedding reception in Hinckley for Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Halsey. The youn couple received many beauti ful gifts. The program in Sacrement meeting meet-ing was furnished by High Councilman Council-man Leoyd Lovell of Delta. With him was Mr. and Mrs. Evan Chris-tensen. Chris-tensen. Interesting talks were given by them. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Overson took their son, Keith, back to Provo Mon day, where he is attending school. I hope everyone is looking forward for-ward to seing the opera, "Annie Get Your Gun," as much as I am. Ki. and Mrs. R. L. Turner had five daughters visiting them last week, Ruby Turner, Connie Moody, of Silt Lake City; Evelyn Snow of St. George; Neilie Stanworth, of Pinole, Calif.; and Lucille Hansen Delta. Charles is just home from the hospital hos-pital and feeling much better. Mrs. Hope Blumell of American Fork spent Wednesday with Bill and Claudine Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. James Pay and two boys of Mona spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Randall Bradfield. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Harris and children spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. LaForge Lovell and family. They have been living in Wyo. but have returned to Utah to live. Bill Nielson was in Salt Lake Thursday for p. checkup at the Vet erans Hospital returning Friday. Sunay, Vs. ?nd Mrs. Elwood Dut-son Dut-son and children of Granger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Dutson, surprised sur-prised them by coming down and bringing p. pup and dinner for Eva's birthday. Luella and Ray Brrton were call-e call-e to Texas on an emergency. Ray's brother-in-law w?s quite sick. Erma and Hon Cropper went to Provo Thursday. At Lehi, they visit ed with their daughter, Mary Ellen Evans and family. Robert and Bessie Webb recently returned from a trip thur Arizona and Nevada with Una and Earl Willden. They spent one night in Las Vegas, one in Phoenix and two in Mesa, Ariz. They went on to Glen Cnnyon Dam and spent a night in Kanab. Newly-weds, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Halsey (Vicki Bishop) were honored at ?. wedding reception Saturday evening in the Relief Society Room at the Hinckley Church. Some of the out-of-town people attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Theo Corry and Joctte of Cedar; Mr. and Mrs. Billie Rogers and family of Milford; Mr. and Mrs. Cleone Talbot and family of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. John Fullmer Full-mer of S?.lt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Halsey of Kanosh; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lake and Linda Lake of Salem. Sal-em. Jim Petersen went to Rupert, Ida.-on Ida.-on the weekend to bring Thora. home. She has been there for sever, al days helping Annette and DeLyle, Bennett with the family and new( baby. ! Sherlene, Marjorie and Lee Judd went to Fillmore Sunday to see. Jeddie and family. Bishop and Mrs. Leonard Palmer went to Salt Lake Friday to attend some Conference sessions, and returned re-turned home Saturday. Ted, son of the Blaine Spend-loves Spend-loves of Kaysville. and Dennis, son of the Art Spendloves of Ogden, visited over the weekend with their cousin, Mel Wright. Thursday, Karl and Arvilla Work man visited their daughter, Lawan na and Jack Davis and family in Toele. They also visited another daughter and family, Paula and Jack Holsten and family. They returned home Friday. Melvin Hepworth of Cedar was visiting with his mother, Mrs. Fern Hepworth, this weekend. Myrna and Fred Jensen and girls of Salt Lake spent Sunday at Myr- na's parents, the Meron Petersens. Sunday, Erma Pugmire of St. Charles, Ida., came to see her sister Connie and Melvin Webb. With Erma were two of her daughters Burton Hansen, and Richard and Ramon Thatcher and children of' Scipio were over Sunday. Orma' prepared p. dinner for them. It was Burton's birthday Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Orson Couch (Essie) visited Saturday and Sunday with Mrs. Hattie Anderson and Mrs. Clara Johnson. i Mrs. N?n Nielson and girls went to Nephi Friday with sister, Barbara who visited with Nan and Bud a few days last week in Delta. Bar- j bara returned to Logan Sunday. I and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Lvnn Bee and son Darwin of Howell Ut., and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bybeej and son Lloyd of Willard, Ut. After ! a short visit here, they all returned home except Erma, who will remain re-main here for a few weeks visit with the Webbs. j Mavis Hardy was one of six Mill . aid County teachers who went up north last week to observe team-teaching team-teaching practices in new schools. Schools visited were the Bellevue School in the Jordan Dist.; and East Elementary School in Tooele. At Bellevue Mavis visited with former Hinckley residents, Phyllis Bennett, Gary Hardy and June, daughter of the late G. M. Wright and Eva Wright. In Tooele, she visited with Beth Hepworth, daughter of Mrs. Fern Hepworth who teaches there. , Mavis reports that it was nice to visit these modern schools that are built round and are interesting and efficient in their operations. Principal Farnswnrth and Mrs. Lucille Hales were in Cedar Friday evening and all Saturday for a school convention. ' Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hardy and Diane and Mr. and Mrs. Vin Cropper went to Salt Lake on the weekend to attend the wedding reception for Beryl's niece, Lawna Hunter, : daughter of LaVonne and Earl Hunter. Hun-ter. Kris was one of Lawna's atten dants. Leslie Diehl and friend, Marilyn, who lives with her in Salt Lake, visited Pt the Ken Damron home over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Whitbeck (Lila Swenson) of Salt Lake have been visiting with Lila's brothers and sisters and families: Vera and Heber Bishop, Randle and Oleta Swensen, Ted pnd Edith Dennison, and Arvilla and L.R. Swensen. They were overnight guests at the Bishop's Bish-op's Sunday. They left Monday to visit their daughter. Saturday morning, a large number num-ber of townspeople attended the Lions sponsored breakfast at the big gym to get the town's cleanup campaign under way. Ruth and Cluff Talbot were in Salt Lake Wednesday afternoon on business. Hinckley MIA boys and girls participated par-ticipated in the Stake Rose Prom Tuesday night. On the committees for the prom were: Jimmy Talbot, Dusty Morris, Sherlene Judd and Sharilyn Hardy. At the Ted Dennison home on the weekend were Theo Ellis and family of Salt Lake. Ron Shumway, who is working in Nev., drove in durinu the week to see his wife and children. Mavis Hardy's fourth and fifth grade class made a trip to Black Rock Tuesday afternoon and sw The Great Stone Face. Other inter esting spots visited were the Old Mud Fort and Gunnison Bend Monument. Mon-ument. The trip ws part of their history of Millard County. Driving the bus was Arln Tavlor. Mrs. Taylor Tay-lor end their two children, Wesley and LaWanna Peterson pnd Mrs. Bernice Palmer made the trip with the younsters. Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Palmer are room mothers. Wes told the class many things about the sights they saw which made the trip even more interesting. Mrs. Evelyn Morris was hostess to the Hinckley Literary Club Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. NaRae Petersen review re-view four stories by Shirley Jackson. Jack-son. Recordings made by Donald Petersen, serving a mission in Bri-tian Bri-tian and by Eddie Moris who is with the U.S. Navy were played. Eleven guests were in attendance and guests Oleta Swensen, Doris Abbott and Mabel Warnick. Play try-outs for the MIA play which is scheduled to be presented in June were held Tuesday evening under the direction of Drama and Speech director, Mrs. Dorothy Dam ron. Mrs Marjorie Judd is now an assistant as-sistant postal worker, at the Hinck ley Post Office, in addition to the Assistant Post Mistress Mrs. Faun Dillenbcck and Post Master Howard Hardy. Mathew Carter, son of the-Ken-nard Carters, recently spent four days at the Salt Lake Children's Hospital for treatment of a broken arm. Belva Morris attended Primary Conference in Salt Lake this week. Mrs. Angie Cahoon, accompanied by Mrs. Stella Hawley, drove to Salt Lake Monday. They met Angle's An-gle's son, Garth, wha was in Utah to attend conference, from Wooster Ohio. Garth spent from Monday until Wednesday with his mother, then went back to attend conference confer-ence sessions. Clera Stewart's daughter, Florence, Flor-ence, of Calif., came Thursday and she and Clara went on in to Salt Lake for conference. Beth and Ray Brown went to Salt Lake on business Friday. Max and Kathryn Humpries of Delta went with them. Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Don Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hardy, and Mr. and Mrs. Bryce Ashby of Delta attended the American Legion Le-gion District Convention in Gunnison. Gunni-son. Also attending the meeting to perform on the program were Ron Hardy, Geniel Webb, Candy Shields and Jim Mace. Visitors at the home of Parry and Jeannie Taylor this week have been Jeanie's sister, Patsy and Darrell Holden of Payson. Friday Jeannie's dad, Richrrd Ekker, and her brother in-law Ron Alloway visited them. Deon Talbot brought a girlfriend home with her from Provo this weekend. The two young son of Emma Lea and Robert Taylor spent the past week with their grandmother, Mrs. Reva Taylor. Sharilyn Hardy went to Nephi Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Marjorie Stout, slake MIA board member, visited the Hinckley MIA Tuesday night to give the girl's classes information on the Arts and Crafts program of the MIA Summer Camp. Mrs. Fannie Lee Hilton came home from Provo over the weekend. She returned Monday to continue her psistancc to Ross and Valeda Hilton, while Valeda recuperates. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Manis spent three days in Salt Lake attending conference. They stayed with Jay and Jerry Warner. After conference, they drove on into Ogden to visit with Bonnie's parents, M.r. and Mrs. Paul Whicker. Reva Talbot had her mother, Mrs. Lula Gull, her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bird, of Meadow Mea-dow here for Sunday dinner and to visit with her and Lynn. Shirley pnd Larry Clark visited at the Glen Taylors Saturday. Sun day visitors were Verna's aunts, Maria W".rren of Springville and Mary Johnson of Sutherland. Lula and John Scott, formcrally of Hinckley, spent Sunday visiting old friends The Randle Swensens, Rodney Wrights" and many others. Connie pnd Gary Morris of Salt Lake spent the weekend with the Wesley Mcvises, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bishop of Sandy, spent the weekend with their daughter, Cherie Morris and family, Don, Kevin and Jodv. The Heber Bishops visited with their son, Lars of Payson, when he was in Delta at the track meet last week. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bishop and Dan of Provo visited with Robert's father, Don A. Bishop, and also attended at-tended the wedding reception for Vicki Bishop, and Dennis Halsey. At the Golda Talbot home over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hunsaker and family of Grantsville, Mrs. Celia Payne and family of White City.
