Guests were Ren's sister and husband, Mr, and Mrs. Ernest Muir of Beaver; brother und wife, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Taylor Tay-lor of Mt. Pleasant; a niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Peay i.f Springville; Arlo and Jerry Taylor, Tay-lor, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Herron, Mrs. Keva Taylor and Ralph. The MIA held a skating party Tuesday night. Punch was served to a large crowd. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hardy of Spanish Fork, were here a few days f n business and visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Roma Ekins. was hostess to the Rook Club Wednesday night at her home. Members present were: Oleta Svvcnsen, Clara Stewart, Dorothy Dor-othy Damron, Nina Meeham, Beryl Hardy, Arvilla Ssvensen, Belva Morris, Mor-ris, Erma Cropper, Vi Robinson, Faun Dillenbeck, Thora Petersen. Sunday evening the Primary presented pre-sented their annual program, "Primary "Pri-mary Family Hour." Stake visitors were Mrs. Rayda Rawlinson and Mrs. NaDean Smith. All Primary children and teachers participated in the skits, talks and songs. Mr. and Mrs. Loren (Rita Bishop) Jackson of Murray, visited at the Eugene Bishop home the weekend. The new Hinckley Ward Bishopric Bishop-ric and their wives went to Salt Lake, Saturday, for the Bishop, Leonard Palmer and two counselors, counsel-ors, Walter Manis and Ward Petersen, Peter-sen, to be "set apart" by Delbert L. Staploy, one of the Twelve. Visitors in Meadow Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Lvnn Talbot to see Reva's mother, Mrs. I.ula Gull and sister, Mrs. Roma Bird. They all went for a drive down to Milford. Mi, and Mrs. George Ekins spent the weekend in Salt Lake visiting their daughter, Margaret Wilde and husband, Frank. Saturday, they attended at-tended a wedding .reception for Miss Carolyn Wilde. Mrs. Ekins has been named one of the Board of Directors. Gaylen and Kathy Cropper and two children, Rich and Sandra, relumed re-lumed home from Calif., Sunday. They had visited in Oroville with Gam and Manee Moody and Gar-nee Gar-nee and Ron Faulkner and family. Mr. and Mrs. Win. B. Pratt visited in Provo last week with Mrs. Pratt's sisters. Mrs. Melba MeT ntosh and Mrs. Florence Robins. Mr. and Mrs. Don H. Mcintosh spent two days in Hinckley attending attend-ing to their farming interests. Mrs. Enid Damron was home for the weekend from Cedar City. Mrs.- Val.ynn Dutson and Mrs. Elcee Grafts drove to Cedar City, Friday, and visited friends. They then went to Lund and met their husbands and ail returned home. Blaine Spendlove of Kaysville was a Hincklev visitor this week. He attended the funeral for Jeff Carter, Friday. Ted came down on his motorcycle on the weekend. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crafts drove to Hurricane to attend funeral services Monday, for Reva's mother. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Theobald had their daughter, Mrs. Grace Bell and children, Bonnie and Cody and a friend, Kenneth Waldron of Bountiful, Boun-tiful, to see them Saturday. They were on their way to Ely to attend a bowling tournament. On their way back they stopped again. Mrs. Val.ynn Dutson and children, child-ren, Jimmy, Kathy, Barbara and Joan drove to Logan Wednesday, to nttend funeral services for her uncle. un-cle. On the wav up they stopped in Salt Lake to get VeAnn Draper to go on to Logan with them. Hearty congratulations to Linda Jo Diehl as the new secretary for D.H S. next year, and to Chris Petersen, Pet-ersen, chosen a cheerleader. Also, congratulations to Kenny Talbot, Geniel Webb, who were finalists in the election. We are proud to have so many students from Hinckley in these elections. Melvin Webb is the new water- master, replacing Fay Theobald, who has served many years. We thank Fav for his fine service, especially es-pecially so since many of the past years recently, have been when his health and age made it an extra effort to fulfill this job, requiring long, tedious hours. Hinckley joins in saying to Fay. "A job well done." Paul Whicker went to Salt Lake this weekend. Donald Brown celebrated his 10th birthday by taking several little friends on a fishing outing up to the D.M A.D. Dam. Jeff Petersen, Bruce Bishop, Raymond Stevens, Kevin Damron, Michael Palmer, Lee Morris. All had good luck fishing, some catching 3 and 4 each. They enjoyed picnic lunches after. Don Moody went to help the group. Mr. and Mrs. Parry Taylor and two girls. Tammy and Jeannie were dinner guests at the home of Ray and Beth Brown, Sunday. Sunday. They returned to Provo then went on to Salt lake to visit Allan Taylor Tay-lor and wife. Larie. Mrs. Lonnie Mcrris has had her sister and brother-in-law, Elwood pnd Louise Collins here to visit. They live in Ogden and were on their way to Phoenix. Ariz. They plan to stop on their way back. Hinckley Lions Club sponsored a Millard County Chronicle 2UI.S. oi the WvvU DEON TALBOT Deon Talbot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Talbot, is a cute, dark-haired dark-haired tomboy from Hinckley. Her favorite leisure-time activity is rabbit rab-bit hunting and a friend has told me that when she isn't rabbit hunting, hunt-ing, she's riding her horse. Besides these two hobbies, Deon likes business bus-iness and sports. Many people have told me that Deon is one of the firiendliest kids in school. Although not too outgoing, out-going, Deon is always friendly, with a comic thing to say to everyone. Deon plans on a career in business. busi-ness. She ranks bookkeeping, office of-fice practice and mixed chorus as her favorite classes. Deon also has found a good opportunity to learn business, while working at her father's fa-ther's grocery store.- She plans to attend Trade Tech. in Provo to learn even more about business. With Deon's independence and knowledge of the business field, she should make a good career for herself in the business world. We wish her good-luck, knowing that Deon will make her own luck and be successful. They attended "Sound of Music" and then remained remain-ed to be present at the farewell testimonial for Elder Kerry Lynn Allen, who left Monday, to fill a mission in Copenhagen, Denmark. Merlin Christensen was one of the speakers at the farewell. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Arjaan Dekker were the 3rd ward members who attended attend-ed the Nat'l Parks Council Silver Beaver Banquet, held in the Wilk- "Cleanup Campaign" breakfast at the gym, Saturday morning, from 6 to 8 a.m. The Lions Club, is to be commended for this event to help everyone to get started cleaning up their yards and the town. The Lions, with Don Morris as president, have sponsored many such worthwhile worth-while projects in the past that have benefited our town. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Wood went to Salt Lake Monday night, to visit Mrs. Corydon Nokes and family. Mr. Nokes died Sunday of a heart pttack. He will be remembered by Deltans as he spent a good deal of time here, supervising the building o:' a seed plant and hay mill. Mrs. Larry Clark, who has been in critical condition in a Salt Lake hospital is reported to be improving improv-ing and has been transfered from the intensive care unit to a private room. Her condition was so critical that she was given several transfusionsso trans-fusionsso if anyone is in Salt Lake and would like to help repay this blood please contact a member mem-ber of the family or the hospital and it will be much appreciated. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hare and Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Willden went to Salt Lake this weekend to attend at-tend a show. Doris Dekker came home for the weekend and brought with her a cousin, Carol Bryant and roommates room-mates Doris Leibing and Muriel Scalley. They joined with the Dekker Dek-ker family in picnicing, seeing the local sights and enjoying the visit before returning to Salt Lake where they are employed. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Forster and daughter Cindy of Roy, spent the weekend in Delta with Mr. and Mrs. Al Willden and family. The main purpose of their visit was to keep a dental appointment" with our much appreciated Dr. Cox. Bishop and Mrs. Lem Lovell have purchased the Earl Willden home and will be moving in by the 1st of May. We are happy for them and offer our help. Word has just been received at this writing, of the death of John Ferry. Our sympathy to the family. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Alldredge drove to Salt Lake, Sunday, and met their missionary son, Dwight Alldredge at the airport. He just returned from a mission to Brazil. City Council- (Cont nued from front page) Br . ben, in charge of the Delta Airport, Air-port, was particularly pleased to learn from Mr. Walker that a $60,-C00 $60,-C00 grant is available to Delta for lcsu-facing the runways and modernizing mod-ernizing the local airport. Council unanimously supported Mr. Barb-en's Barb-en's motion thai the City Council meet with the Millard County Commissioners Com-missioners soon to begin proceedings proceed-ings to get the airport project under un-der way. Councilman Barben has been working on this project for the past four years. He learned from Mr. Walker that Delta City Airport was listed with all major airlines as an emergency field. They said that Rudy Patrick Seed Co. is donating : the lawn seed for planting the golf greens. The golf ass'n has 110 paid up members. The complete sprinkling sprink-ling system, a coupling type, will cost approximately $12,000. Mr. Moody said. John A. Day Insurance Agency of Delta received the bid for the city insurance. Councilman Ashby was elected to continue as Mayor Pro Tem until un-til the next regular council meeting meet-ing when a new mayor will be appointed ap-pointed in accordance with Delta City Ordinances. ARPRILLA SCOW Jay Webb spent a few days in the West Millard Hospital after having been kicked by a horse. We are glad he is better now. Ricky Cropper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cropper was a patient at the West Millard Hospital last week with an infection. It seems good o see Ricky back playing with his school pals. Daughters of Utah Pioneers of Fanny Cropper DUP Camp met on Friday afternoon at the home of Inga Black. The lesson was given by Arlean Bennett. There were 14 present. Refreshments were served by Inga Black and Mollie Dewsnup. Delores Ogden was hostess to the Deseret Rook Club at her home On Thursday evening. A delicious luncheon lun-cheon was served after which Rook was played. Conk who has been employed em-ployed at Tooele this winter spent a few days taking care of his farm here. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Roberts from Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allen, Jr. of Provo and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Nelson and son Gary of Sunset were weekend visitors at the home of Homer and Rae Jensen. Mrs. Jackie Black returned home Saturday evening after having spent the past week in Salt Lake with Gus and Nancy Fowles and infant son. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Fowles of Salt Lake are rejoicing over the brth of a son. The young man, born April 14, weighed in at 7 lbs. 15 oz. and will be given the name of Richard Glen.
