Show First Ward News Fred Works, son oi Mr. and Mrs. Mont. Works and Ed Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Morris, Hinckley, Hinck-ley, pre home on leave from the Great Lakes Naval Case. They arrived ar-rived last Monday for a two-week leave. Fred reports to Patuxent Kiver, Md. April 20 and Ed reports back to Great Lakes on the 19th. A family Easter dinner party was held Sunday at the homo of Mr. and Mrs. Works. Mr. and Mrs. James Hardy and Sheldon of Milford, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Erickson of Beaver and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Hardy and family of Ogden spent Saturday with Mr. and M.rs. Floyd Hardy and family and ea.stered at the sandhills. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Cole went to Pheonix, Arizona recently to visit with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cole and children. Their grandson Mike, returned with them them and has been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Cole and with other grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Petersen. Saturday night visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Bladen Bla-den were Mr. Bladen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bladen of Cedar City and a sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Dicks and two children, child-ren, also of Cedar City. Attending funeral services in Milford, April 5 for Ruben L. Sue and Vern Stewart of Las Vegas, Nev., spent the weekend with Sue's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Med Hawley. Kathleen Church, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ned Church, was recently rec-ently elected President of the Associated As-sociated Women's Students at CSU. Kathleen is a freshman at the college. col-lege. Congratulations, Kathleen. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Jensen, Jr. (Cora Gardner) and sons David and Mike of Los Angeles, Calif., spent last week in Delta with Mrs. Archie (Dorothy) Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Jensen's daughter, Karen, is a student stu-dent at BYU and they visited one' day with her and in Ogden with Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Cropper. Friday night a family dinner party was held at Mrs. Archie Gardner's home. She was very seriously injured in-jured and will be hospitalized f a month or more with a hroken thigh bone. She is in traction now in the St. Francis Hospital in Lin-wood, Lin-wood, Calif, and may even have to undergo surgery later. We feel so sorry about this trouble and Isabella's suffering, but hope she will soon be much better. Mrs. Rose Sampson has had her son Boyd home with her for several months now since he left the hospital hos-pital in Salt Lake. She reports that he is improving slowly but encouragingly encour-agingly and she is enjoying having him home. I have seen Dorothy Webb taking him out for a ride in the car several times. This family is very united and each one is trying try-ing hard to help out in every way possible. Good luck, Boyd and a very speedy recovery. We all think of you. Miss Linda Kay Barken and friend Douglas Reedmiller left Friday Fri-day morning to return to Calif, and their schools where they are both teachers. They were returning by way of Las Vegas and hoped to attend at-tend the production of "Hello Dolly" Dol-ly" there Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. Gail Farnsworth and family of Huntsville are visitors visit-ors at the home of their parents, M,r. and Mrs. Albert Kimher over the weekend. ... Miss Anita McCall, BYU student, visited this weekend with her moth er, Mrs. Lenore McCall and family. Mr. Anthony Stephenson visited in Salt Lake all weekend with his wife Adelia who is living at present time with her daughter. Mr. Stephenson Steph-enson reports that she seems to be improving in health. We all send our love and regards to her at this time. Phillip Black, a student at Dixie College was home last weekend to visit his mother, Mrs. Doona Black who was down from Salt Lake where she recently moved. Ann Webb was home from school for her Easter vacation, also Mr. and Mrs. Glen Swalberg were in Salt Lake Friday and Saturday for conference where Glen sang in the Priesthood home teaching chor us Friday evening in t h e Tabernacle. Taber-nacle. Bishop Willard Stephenson and family visited in Salt Lake and attended at-tended conference all weekend. There was a very good percentage percent-age of the Turner family in attend ance at Sacrament meeting Sunday night for the farewell testimonial for Klder Reed Lynn Turner, who is leaving soon for Maryland, headquarters head-quarters for the Eastern Atlantic States mission. We wish for Lynn during the next two years, health, happiness and a grand experience. Mr. and Mrs. Boy Smith and Ellen spent their Raster vacation in Delta visiting family and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barben spent Sunday at Marysvale visiting their son Mr. and Mrs. Keith Barben and family and the Verl Henries. They were joined there by their son LaMont and family of Richfield for the Easter weekend and went to Pederson Warm Springs, Nevada. It is a lovely report. They were a-bout a-bout 700 people there Saturday and well over a thousand by Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Pril Fairchild of Idaho have spent n few days here taking care of Mrs. Fairchild's interests in-terests here. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Lewis and son Paul of Magna visited during the week with Richard and Julie Turner. Tur-ner. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Clayton and daughter Penny Jo of Logan were home for the Easter weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Van Warnick. Mrs. Eva Robison spent several days in Salt Lake with her children Miss Eva Alice Robison and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Tolbert and family. Mr. and Mrs. Garry Hardy and children Gregg and Ann spent the Easter weekend at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sorenson. They reside in Draper. Mr. and Mrs Fred Warniclc and daughter Janet of American Fork visited with the Bert Sorensons Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Wally Wright of Logan and Joan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson spent Sunday with the Walter Wrights and made a trip down to Black Rock. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Wright of Lns Vegas are in Delta visiting with their friends and families for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Theobald of Placentia, Calif, and three sons Brent, Phil and Larry spent the past week at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. S. Bud Richardson .of Garrison stopped for a visit Friday evening with Arch and Eddys Barben. fVp Club Seivs Friday, April 15, the TriDels are holding their annual Review, in the Palomar. This is an important event: a summary of the TriDel's work throughout the year, and a climax to their experiences as Tn Del members. All Drills performed diving the football and basketball halftimes will be performed; spaced between the marching are various outside numbers. As the final number, senior g:rls will sing "So Long for a While" and pay their final tribute to the Tri Del organization. After the Review, which begins at 7:.'!0, the Pep Club will sponsor a record hop in the Palomar (Shoes are prohibited on the floor, please). Mr. and Mrs. Henry Larson went to Provo Saturday to take their granddaughter home after having spent the past several weeks with her grandparents in Deseret. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Cropper were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Cropper over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Scow of Man-ti Man-ti were home for the Easter week end with their parents, Milden and Arprilla Scow at Deseret and Mrs. Alice Bliss at Hinckley. Mrs. Rose Dewsnup returned to her home Saturday after having spent the past week at Orem with Stanley and Ada Chynowelh and daughters. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Western and children of Phoenix, Ariz, visited Sunday and Monday with Harold's parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Western. West-ern. Harold and family were on their way home after being in Salt Lake for conference. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tate and children of Tooele spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Mace. Mrs. Tate and Mrs. Mace are cousins. Margie has a happy outlook on life and one of the most cheerful dispositions at school. She is usually us-ually to be seen laughing with one group or another. A friend told me that Margie is not easily made upset up-set or angry but if angry, always readily forgives. Margie enjoys doing handsewing and painting. She has done some beautiful embroidering and crocheting cro-cheting on pillow cases. Bookkeeping and office practice rank as Margie's favorite classes at school. Although she doesn't take type as a class this year Margie enjoys typing very much. Margie is undecided about her future plans but thinks she will work for the next year after graduation gradu-ation befrre going to Stevens-Hen-ager Business College for training as an IBM operator. Capable of hard work and willing to put in extra time to accomplish her jobs is something about Margie that should be her greatest asset. SALLY JOHNSON Mary Balldntyne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ballantyne, was recently chosen to represent the Associated Women Students from Prigham Young University at the BARRY BISHOP In the halls of DHS you may pass a rather serious-looking boy walking walk-ing along. When he suddenly does a Red Skelton kind of crow-hop and flashes a broad grin, you may be surprised; but you can tell this teen, Barry Bishop, has a deep sense of humor underlying his misleading mis-leading serious countenance. Not that Barry' can't be serious but he loves to have fun, too. He is soft-spoken, soft-spoken, rather easy-going, and willing will-ing to help others with problems. Verdell R. and Dana Bishop of Hinckley claim him as their son. He has many interest such as: hunting, explosives, moter bike riding, rid-ing, camping, and athletics; and is involved in many activities. Because Be-cause of two knee operations he has not been able to participate in some sports but has settled for the trying job of team manager. He has been on several committees and was decorations co-chairman for the Jr. Prom. This friendly, well-dressed teen plans to go to CSU and major in either engineering or dentistry. Ihe Ward Easter Outing that was planned to be held at the sand hills was called off due to the wind At one o'clock an Easter Egg Hunt was held at the Fairgrounds for all the children of Primary age. A good time was had by a large group of children and many Easter eggs were found. The program in Sacrament meet ing Sunday evening was given by High Councilman Ray Western. Talks were given by Ralph Crafts, Harold Western and Ray Western. We had a wonderful experience this past week of talking on the phone to some people from the Hawaiian Islands. Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Lee of Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii came to Salt Lake to attend conference and stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Kent Dewsnup and family fam-ily in Coalville. Kent met the Lees' while he was on his mission in the Hawaiian Islands. coming national convention to be held in Tempo, Arizona. Miss Ballantyne is the niece of Mrs. Fay Howell of Oasis. She is a sophomore at BYU majoring in music and elementary education. She serves as a member of the student stu-dent council.
