Wright Kerr of Lubbock, Texas, announce the engagement en-gagement of their daughter, Miss Julie Jan Kerr to Lt. Thomas Dale McCormick, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. McCormick of Delta. The couple will exchange wedding wed-ding vows Feb. 18 in the First Christian Church in Lubbock. Dinner was catered cat-ered by Hatch's City Cafe to 30 at one long tab e, gaily decorated in t'a.Lt'.onnl rod and greon. A very nice Christmas program of soncs and strrics was emceed by Arie Henderson. An exchange of gifts wound up the evening's entertainment. KEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY The New Year's Eve party for the Fidelity Club was eiven bv Pearl didate for graduation from Texas j Snow, Dorothy Gardner, Hannah Tech later this month with a BBA . Larson and Thelma Seegmiller. X O ;; Monterey High School and is a can- degree in business education in the School of Business Administration. The future bridegroom is a graduate grad-uate of Delta High School and a 1964 graduate of Utah State University Uni-versity with a BS degree in applied statistics. He is currently serving with the US Air Force at Dyers AFB, Abilene, Texas. The engaged couple spent part Dinner was served to 25 at Hatch's City Cafe. MAX A. JENSEN Dear friends of the Third Ward: I believe we all are interested in the events that take p. ace in our ward, whether its saddness or hap piness. One way we can let our friends here at home, out of town or in j far away places know what is happening, hap-pening, is through our Third Ward column in the Chronicle. There are many people in our ward that I am not acquainted with, but I hope to know all of you in the coming year. I will try to do my best in reporting re-porting the news. Lets all try to make this co.umn one of the new- sest by letting me know either by phone, 302J1, or in person. Mr. and Mrs. Piatt Taylor visited with Piatt's father, Jimmie Taylor at the El-Dredge Rest Home in Provo. Mr. Taylor will be 95 next May. He is still very spry and a-lert. a-lert. He spends a lot of his time helping to take care of men around 70 years old at the home. They were having their annual Christmas Christ-mas party. Some were playing Bingo. Mrs. Angus Myers is home for the rest of the winter. She has were reminiscing of the fun times they used to have when their child ren were all little. They said they used to have time then to visit their friends. They would hitch up their horses to the wagon, load in the kids and away they would go. My, how times have changed! Marva, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Whicker attended the Grand Canyon reunion in Provo. Marva has worked in the Canyon for the past three summers. Congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Tarn Davis wish to thank their many friends who have been so kind and thoughtful since they both have been ill. They are both improving at the present time. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Wind of Provo spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Wind. They were on their way to Nevada to attend the wedding of Mr. Jerry Wind, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wind. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Walker and girls were here to visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Win Walker. Bill was here also for the purpose of getting the microwave going. Bill is the electrical engineer and subcontracts for the B & G Inc. He for the holidays. All of them returned re-turned to their various schools for the New Year which is ahead. On Dec. 28 the family met at the home of their son, LaMont at Richfield and enjoyed a dinner and visit. Mr. and Mrs. Verland Will-den Will-den and family spent Tuesday and Wednesday with their parents on their way home from Richfield to Granger and on Dec. 31 the brothers broth-ers and wives and sister of Ar-lene's Ar-lene's spent the day with them and enjoyed a birthday dinner together. the Doll House. Ushers were Aaron Hatch, Harold Scoville, Karlon Cooke and Haws Marble. The bride will be graduated from Utah State University in the spring (daughter of Salt Lake visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jenson and family and while here laid the carpet for their living room. They also visited their grand mother, Mrs. Henrietta Barben. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Clark and Helen Hersleff entertained with an old year out-new year in party Friday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clark for the North Tract Card Club. A hot supper was served for six tables and cards were played play-ed afterwards. At midnight each man received a balloon and the ladies a noise maker. Miss Patti Robison and Miss Judy Kay Owens returned to Logan to resume their school work there. Word was received Tuesday by Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Fowles that Janet arid Fondd Sampson of Oak Brook, LI. are the parents of a new baby girl born Jan. 3rd. Mr. and Mrs. Reid Tippetts received re-ceived word of the birth of a new grandson born Jan. 4 to Duane and Jill Bayless in Provo. has served as student body secre tary. Mr. Jensen is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a master's degree in Counseling Guidance. An openhouse will honor the newlyweds Friday, Jan. 7, at the Deseret LDS Ward between the hours of 7:00 and 9:30 p.m. Their friends are cordially invited. The coup'e will make their home in Salt. Lake City where Mr. Jensen Jen-sen is employed in the Granite School District, and Mrs. Jensen will continue her schooling. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Adams and family visited over the weekend with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Losee. Mr. and Mrs. Art Hill made a trip to Cedar City Sunday to return Artie Ar-tie to school. All the boys and girls returned to their colleges on Sun- Mrs. Clark (LaVee) Austin and family fa-mily in Nephi. They also visited many of their old time friends. They lived in Nephi most of their lives before moving to Delta. Mrs. Susie Sampson spent Christmas Christ-mas in Milford with her daughter, Mrs. Ray (Bertha) Belliston and family. Aunt Susie does get around at the age of 87 years young. I dropped in for a chat with her New Year's day. She had two of her old time friends there for dinner, Rose Sampson and Sarah McCullough. When these three are together, there isn't a dull moment. They Year's dinner. Mr. and Mrs. R u f e Clark had Christmas dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Clark. Mrs. Tressa Jenson made a trip to Las Vegas during the holidays for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Oral Jenson in Henderson. Mrs. Harry Meinhardt and Art Hill received word Wednesday be-for be-for Christmas that their niece Vivian Viv-ian had had a severe heart attack and died. We offer our sympathy to them and their families. A death before the holidays seems so much worse. Mr. and Mrs. Josh Robison of Fillmore Fill-more spent Christmas with their daughters Ireta and Yvonne Shurtz and their families. Mr. and Mrs. Rom Shields spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Larry Shields and their granddaughter Candace came back with them over the holidays and attended church. The married folks of the ward gave a hot supper and dance for the community. They danced the old year out and the new year in. A real good time was had by all present. A Happy New Year for 1966. No need to go elsewhere for comfort, unless o spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Moody. They reside in Calif, at the present time. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Christensen of Provo and Miss Laura Moody of Dixie spent the weekend and Xmas holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thurmon Moody and children. We learned from the Chronicle of the admittance of Mr. Wallace Hoiman to the West Millard Hospital. Hospi-tal. All of us wish for him a very speedy recovery. The Frank Lymans have had some experiences with fire the last! while. Not too long ago with their tractor and just the other day, their hay started burning from within. From all reports they spent most of the day trying to get it stopped. Hope they don't have anything more catch fire. We are all very glad to know that Mrs. Mary Henrie is very much improved, is home and from what we know, is very happy that the surgery is all over with. The Young Marrieds held their New Year's Eve dinner at the church then all of them attended the dance at the Stake House. Miss Ethelyn Yazzie visited on Sunday with her friend, Miss Beu-lah Beu-lah Mergan. Delia Twitchell of Lindon, Utah is visiting with her sister and family, fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Heber Rose and family. Miss Elaine Briggs of Sa-iina Sa-iina visited with the Heber Roses on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. David Wilde spent one day in Croyden with the:.r folks Mr. and Mrs. Reid Wilde. It was a very nice holiday with all of the college students home her family here Mr. and Mrs. Gus Fowles of Salt Lake spent the Christmas holidays with their fo.ks, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Fowles and in Deseret with Mr. and Mrs. Dean Black. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Robinson and children of Richfield spent two days at the Heber Roses. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Clayton and Penny Jo returned to Logan after a ten day holiday here at their home and with friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. June Johnson and family spent the weekend with their mother, Mrs. Mary Johnson. Mr. David Anderson returned to Provo where he will resume his school work. Mrs. Norma Jensen had some of her grandchildren with them for the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. John Wind made a trip to Provo to visit with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Auer Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Wind. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Rose, Mr. and Mrs. David Wilde, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hepworth, Michael Rose, Elaine P'iggs and Delia Twitchell Twit-chell spent the New Year's Day in Richfield with their daughter and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Garv Robinson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Forbush and Mr. and Mrs. Forsythe were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Edwards. Miss Lorraine Johnson returned to Provo after her vacation for the Cr-istmas Holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Jones were here from Arizona for the Christmas Holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Hamblin spent some time during their vacation course, the weather gets unbearable. Charlie Al'en and Ruth Steele accompanied Sharon Steele of Washington, D. C. and Geraldine Critchley of American Falls, Idaho to Salt Lake City, Sunday for Sharon Shar-on to catch her flight back to her home. They all enjoyed a New Year's Day dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Heyborne before going to the airport. Several friends were at the airport to see Sharon off. An interesting event happened at the airport, Miss Connie Garrard of Evanston, Wyo. was at the air port awaiting her flight to Wash ington, D. C. She was a student of Sharon's at the lab school in Provo and is presently secretary to Pres. Johnson.
