Colona Petersen Eennett and family of Holden were here and most all the family was present. ) We are rejoicing about our 4th great-grandchild, the 7 lb. 11 oz. baby boy born to Neil and Jackie Sampson in Las Vegas. Joe Sharkey Young and family of California recently have visited the Alva Youngs. Jun'or Young and family fa-mily have been in Salt Lake for two weeks but are home again. Sherman and Gladys Tolbert and Wanda Lee spent Thanksgiving in Provo with the Levins (Lois Taylor Levin) and Gladys' mother, Mrs. Sarah Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Talbot are moving to Alamo, Utah. Dick has employment there. He has been working on the micra-wave station here. Clark and Reva Bliss and Bob and Sebrina Robison drove to Mil-ford Mil-ford and had dinner Thanksgiving. They said they got out of this dreadful fog when they left Millard County. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lovell of Oak City had as guests Thanksgiving: Mrs. Rose Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Les-ter Webb and family and Walter and Lola Stoneking of Abraham. They all enjoyed a tig turkey and all the trimmings. We had a number of our family here for the day and surely enjoyed en-joyed having them all. Edgar and Margaret Taylor had a Thanksgiving day visit with son Myron and wife and children and Mr. and Mrs. Kyser of Ely, Nev. Myron l'.ves in Orem now. The Ky-sers Ky-sers went home but Myron stayed over night. Warren Petersen spent a few days in Salt Lake this week. LaVoy Tolbert and family came out for a Sunday dinner and visit 'olay wi h Floyd and Cleone Tolbert. Tol-bert. Eiladene Corbett left Sunday on the noon train for Las Vegas to he'p out with her first grandchild. Danny went wi.h her. She will stay about a week. 1 would, like to thank our friend Frank Timpson in California for his kind remembrance of my birthday. We've had three or four days of deep fog I hope it soon lifts. We were rapt with the television news that Pres. Kennedy was killed when our little 5-yr. old grandson, Lyle said sadly "He was just as good to the Indians (Negroes) as he was to us. Now who will lead us." Things affect kids more than we realize. Miss Maralee Young came home for Thanksgiving and brot her roommate, M'ss Diane Youngblood with her. Miss Youngblood is from Florida and knows Elder Verl Tolbert Tol-bert who is on an IDS Mission there. She says Verl is a wonderful missionary and we know that. The girls go to BYU. David and Gen'.el Young are home over Sunday visiting the La-Var La-Var Owens and Eugene Young families. fa-milies. They are both employed in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Gam (Dorothy Tal bot) Thompson and 4 children of Magna were with the Lee Talbots over the weekend. They all attended attend-ed the Wm. L. Bunker family reunion. re-union. Thiessen. Their wedding vows were made Friday, Nov. 22, at Eureka, Nevada. They are making a home in Ely, Nevada. The bride is the former Jessie Lynn Gillette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard E. Cook of Delta. She has taught in the elementary and jun'or and senior high schools at Delta, and this year is teaching in the elementary school at Ely. Mr. and Mrs. Thiessen and their sons, Biilie, Tommie and Danny Thiessen, and David Scott Gillette v sited in Delta over Thanksgiving Day for dinner with Mrs. Thies-sen's Thies-sen's parents and grandmother, Mrs. Mary S. Beckwith. MISS CAROL ANN FOWLES Engagement Told Announcement is being made this week of the engagement of Miss Carol Ann Fowles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Fowles to Ronald Edwin Thayer. Mr. Thayer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Theobald of Delta. Plans are for a wedding in the near future. Both Ronald and Carol are now working in Las Vegas, Nev., where they will reside after their marriage. I The Jolly Stitchers card party will be Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Woodrow Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson had a frig family dinner for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiv-ing. Students home for the holidays were LeRay and Barbara Jackson, Maralee Young, Jill Tippetts, Pam Robison, Annette Moody, Karen Moody and Wayne Edwards from BYU; Karen Roberts and Ronnie Mortensen from USU; David Henrie, Paul Johnson and Kenny Mortensen from CSU; Gordon Johnson and Eloise Johnson from Snow College; and Phil Adams from Dixie. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Skidmore had their children home last week, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Boswell and family of Cedar City. Then coming for Thanksgiving werre Mr. and Mrs. Scott Skidmore and children of Moab, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Todd and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Winters and children of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Warnick and two children of Monroe, Kenny of Cedar City and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Maxfield of Delta joined Mike and LaPriel Mortensen for Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing dinner. Mr. and Mrs.Jvo Ogden had all their family home on Thanksgiving Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Mecham and children, Orem; Mr. and Mrs. Fay DeLeeuw and children, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Miller and children, Fillmore; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Suchey, Salt Lake; and Dana Kay Ogden of Provo. Judy and Diane Turner of Salt Lake were here for Thanksgiving with the Fred Turners. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Jones visited in Oak City Sunday. They spent Thanksgiving in Delta with the Steve Stoddard family. Mr. Cal Jones is preparing to go to California and spend the winter wi.h his children. Mrs. Rhoda Jackson spent a few days at the West Millard Hospital but is now home again. We all wish her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Duaine Erickson of Manti visited Mr. and Mrs. Norman Erickson. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wilson and family fa-mily and Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Church and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Golden Erickson and Ray. Mr. and Mrs. Nels Brumley are still out in Reno, Nevada with their daughter Dorothy and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell Walker spent Thanksgiving in Logan with their daughter, Venna and family. Linda came home with tlum to spend the weekend. Gathering at the W. R. Walker place for Thanksgiving were the Gene and Roger Walker families and the Charles Williams of Kan-osh. Kan-osh. Josie Walker went to St. George to visit relatives, then on to Bunk-erville Bunk-erville to the dedication of the monument to Edward Bunker, an early pioneer; then on to Las Vegas Veg-as for the rest of the Bunker re- Fiiie Arts Club Is ftatertained Fine Arts Club was entertained Monday evening, Nov. 25, by hostesses host-esses Mary Wright and Orvetta Nickle. Dinner was served at the local cafe after which, the club met at the home of Mrs. Wright. The program was under the direction di-rection of Alta Ashby. Mrs. Gwen Hunter, art instructor at Millard H gh School, presented an interesting interest-ing program. Her subject was: "What Makes Good Art Good," and included slide tours of paintings paint-ings found in two famous art galleries. gal-leries. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Stanley of Mona, announce the engagement of their daughter, Nyra, to Roger Nielson; son of Mr. and Mrs. Elden P. Nielson of Leamington. The wedding has been set for Dec. 21. Bo.h Nyra and Roger are attending attend-ing Utah State University at Logan. The Sermon this Sunday will be "Give Him Room In the Inn," given by Dr. E. H. Stultz. Dr. Stultz comes to us from Wasatch Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City. This will be his first trip here, so let's make it memorable with a large turnout. Services will he at 11 a.m. The Christmas program will he on the 15th. So be sure to keep this date open. Our Sunday School Supt. has stressed the importance of having your children at Sunday School, which begins at 9:45 every Sunday. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all newcomers new-comers to come to our church and Sunday School. We will have an adult baby sitter during worship services at 11, and classes for the children and adults at 9:45. I Charlotte and Willis Morrison' were in Vallejo, California visiting ; with Mrs. Morrison's parents forj Thanksgiving. The McClennahen's were in Las Vegas visiting parents. Mrs. Joy Morrison and Susan are : in Las Vegas visiting her mother. Mr. Reid, Mr. Drury, Mr. Ortman and several others were home during dur-ing the long weekend. We are sorry to lose the Jones family. They have been most ac-j tive in our church. A farewell dinner din-ner was held for them this past Wednesday night. We wish them God Speed and Good Luck in their ! new home. The McClennahen's are leaving the 12th of this month. We are go-, ing to miss these two families more than they realize. I suggest the ! Garcia, Los Angeles, Calif, spent last week with Miss Riding's parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. (Speed) Riding. While here they all drove to Salt Lake City to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ray-mond Vest and children, Bruce, Sherilynn, Dean and John. Gordon 11, 31oody To Claim Bride Sylvia Marie Derrick will become the bride of Gordon Bishop Moody in Los Angeles LDS Temple rites Dec. 21. Miss Derrick is the daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Irven Glade Derrick. A wedding reception honoring the bridal pair is slated for Saturday, Satur-day, Dec. 28 at the San Francisco Stake House, Brunswick and Hillside Hill-side Boulevard, Daly City, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Perk'ns spent Thanksgiving Day in Tooele with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Theobald. Mr. and Mrs. Golden H. Black are in Salt Lake City. Mr. Black will undergo surgery Thursday at the LDS Hospital. Hope all of you enjoyed Thanks giving. The four of our little family fam-ily enjoyed dinner together alone this year as our little Debbie has Chicken Pox. Makes me go back some years and recall when I was in the second grade and also had them I remember I s'.ood under the Chicken Pox s gn on our house J md had my picture taken. Time1 ilys on wings of lightning. Mr. and Mrs. George Weston of 1 Logan have been visiting with Mr. a-id Mrs. Joe Snow this last week. Mrs. Weston is a sister to Mrs. Snow. Mr. end Mrs. Ross Lpp'ch and family of Sal. Lake spent Friday in Delta visiting friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Applegate and family spent Thanksgiving in Richfield with members of their family. fa-mily. Visiting at the Lawrence Bunkers for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs.' Jack Hr.rris of Los Angeles and their two children, Dennis and Linda Lin-da who .are attending school at BYU; Mr. and Mrs. Merv Williams and four children o Murray, Nancy NLswinder of Los Angeles and their son, Val Bunker who is attending school at CSU. Ronald Wright and his family, Betty Rae, Ann, Ronnie and Robert spent Thanksgiving in Las Vegas with his family, Mr. and Mrs. Walt Wright and Wally. Mrs. Juneal Johnson and children Ricky and Elizabeth of California spent the Thanksgiving week in Delta with her mother, Mrs. Bessie Judd. Also visiting with Mrs. Judd on Thursday was her son David and family of Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Robison and son Paul spent Thanksgiving with their son Doug and family in Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Jeffery and sons Bruce, Keith and Steven recently re-cently returned from a trip back east to meet their other son, Wy-dell Wy-dell who was recently released from his mission. They enjoyed many points of interest on their trip and really enjoyed every bit of it. We a.re glad to have Wydell home again. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Vodak spent this last week in California with other members of the Kill- pack family. The Killpacks were ail together there for the Thanksgiving Thanks-giving Holiday. Several of our college kids were home for the weekend: Leo Lyman, Ranee Stephenson, Marlene Bogh, Pam Morrison, Judy Callister, Kathy Thompson, Joan Bishop, Jane Turner, Charles Allen and Val Bunker. In Sacrament meeting Sunday Kent Dewsnup blessed his new little daughter and gave her the name of DeAnn. The Dewsnups are moving to the F.rst Ward. We will miss them and it surely will be the First Ward's gain. "Happy Birthday" this week to: June Black, Todd Swalberg, Susan Henrie, Carol Adams, Victor Hun-saker Hun-saker and to my dear husband, Don Robison. Mr. and Mrs. Van Bishop had most of the.r family home for the weekend. Mr. and, Mrs. Merv White of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Baldwin Bald-win and also, their son Kent was here. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Killpack spent Thanksgiving in Orem with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Cahoon. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Barben and family of Logan and Linda Barben who is going to school at USU spent the weekend with their parents, par-ents, Mr, and Mrs. Archie Barben. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Terry and daughter Crist el Ann of Las Vegas spent the weekend, with their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Miller. Delta Second Ward Gold and Green Ball was held Saturday nite, Nov. 30. A teal good crowd attended attend-ed and everyone enjoyed a good time. Two musical numbers were given, a vocal solo by Golda Jane Black and a trombone sola by Paul Losee. Spaceman's Hop was the theme and the hail was cleverly decorated. Here we are into December. Ladd Haies who is attending school at Ely where his mother, Ann Hales teaches, was recently elected president of his class. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Johnson recently re-cently made a trip to Douglas, Arizona to visit their son Lee. Here at the Sam Hales home for their daughter Susan's reception were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Handley and sons, Bill and Dail and daughter daugh-ter Jackie and Peter Meuler of Salt Lake City. Ann Hales returned to Ely Sunday Sun-day where she is teaching this year. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Henrie and two sons of Bountiful and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Dalton and two sons of Circleville spent Thanksgiving with their mother Mary Henrie. Cutler was in the hospital in Salt Lake after surgery last week. Mary went up Monday to get him. Wayne Edwards was going on crutches when he was home from school. He said he broke his ankle playing basketball. Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Owens had their family, Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Wright of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. David Young of Salt Lake here. Their grand-daughter Lori who has been visiting here returned home with them. LaVar and Jim Owens, Gloria and Varla Wright attended funeral services in Panguitch for an uncle. LaVar and Glc.-ia sang a duet, accompanied ac-companied by Varla Wright. Mr. and Mrs. William Bunker had their daughter, Luana Beagley and family of Cedar City and Betty Parker and family of Las Vegas here for the Thanksgiving holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Jones and children went to Smithfield for Thanksgiving and to attend a wedding wed-ding of one of Ruth's nieces. Mrs. Amon Johnson is visiting in California for a while. Phil Adams and Roger Ogden spent the weekend in Provo and Orem.
