Show FIRST WARD AREA NEWS BRIEFS LEONA WORKS Mr. and Mrs. Seth Jackson and Sheldon were overnight visitors with Mr. and Mrs. LaVerl Jackson and son Gregory. Seth and Alisha ' came home Wednesday. Sheldon is staying for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. Brog Hopkins were Salt Lake visitors for two days last week. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Watts on the birth of twin girls. Gerald and Norma live in Las Vegas. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Watts of Delta and Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Howell of Oasis. Mrs. L. L. Sperry and Mary Ann were in Salt Lake Thursday and came home by way of Provo Friday Fri-day for Mary Ann to keep a dental appointment. Mr. and Mrs.' W. C. Cole were in Salt Lake to attend the graduation exercises at the U. of U. Their dau ghter, Elaine graduated with a degree de-gree in Secondary Education. E-laine E-laine will teach Home Economics in the Granite District when school opens next fall. Mrs. Alma Peterson is visiting in Phoenix, Ariz., with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cole and son. She made the trip with Mr. and Mrs. Orran Ashby. Mr. and Mrs. Kennard Riding, Mr. and Mrs. Seth Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Newell Iverson, with other members of the Delta Firemen, attended at-tended a Firemen's convention last week at Price. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Gardner from Salt Lake spent a week's vacation in California where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. LaVoy Robinson and family and Dr. and Mrs. Harold Har-old Snow. They stopped in Delta to visit with the Evan Gardners and the Max Robisons. Kay had to be in Salt Lake for work Wednesday Wednes-day and Jeanne stayed for a longer long-er visit in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. LaVoy Robison and family arrived in Delta Friday. LaVoy La-Voy had to go to Hill Air Force Base at Ogden for two weeks. Karen Kar-en and the two girls will stay with Max and Evelyn. While there, Bishop Bish-op Jensen had the privilege to bless his grandson which was given the name Arthur Ray. They visited with Bill and Ada Buch and family. Mr. Odean went to Cedar City for her graduation and moved Kay back home. Callie, the young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Peck had the misfortune mis-fortune of falling and breaking both bones in one of her arms last Wednesday. Mrs. Max Bennett, Bob and Jim were in St. George last week to attend at-tend the wedding reception of her niece, Betty Beacham and Gary Carter. The reception was held at I the St. George Fifth Ward. They visited with Mrs. Bennett's mother and other members of the family. I Betty lived with the Bennetts and went to school here for a year. I'm sure she has many friends in and around Delta. Mrs. Maribah Winsor and Marl- bah Ann were in Logan Sunday and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Al-bert Winsor and family. They met Clara Beth Welch and family and brot them to Delta for a visit Monday. Mon-day. Mrs. M'ldred Church fell when a chair tipped and broke her leg in the knee. She has a cast on it and we hope she will not be laid up for too ling. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Workman were in Salt Lake on business last Thursday. They brot young Stephen Workman, son of Grant and Beth, to Delta for a visit. His visit lasted quick when he woke up Saturday morning with the mumps. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Workman came down Saturday to take him home. Mrs. Bill Ashby and daughter are spending two weeks in Delta with Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Workman while Bill is in the National Guard Summer Sum-mer Camp. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Workman and family of Smithfield spent the, weekend in Delta with the Work-mans Work-mans and in Sutherland with the Mays. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wood spent. Father's Day in Delta with the Iv-' ersons and the Woods. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Bird and family fa-mily of Bountiful visited in Delta the weekend. Mr. Tom James spent the week end visiting with the Richard Snow family. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Edwards are visiting in Delta with Mr. and Mrs. James Nickle and family and with Mrs. Mary Edwards. Mrs. Mary Edwards came home Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. David Lamoreaux of Salt Lake. They had been on a ten day trip into British Columbia, across to Vancouver and down the coast of San Francisco and home. Linda Nickle spent a week in Bountiful with her aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Cole and family. Mrs. Albert Nickle and Carolyn and Mr. and Mrs. George Cahoon were in Salt Lake and Bountiful Saturday. They saw Elder Bill Wal-lies Wal-lies who was in the mission home with Scott. Elder Wallies has been in the Spanish Mission Home in Provo for three months. He leaves for a mission in Argentine. Mr. and Mrs. John Skidmore and Mrs. Uullen, the mother of Mrs. Skidmore, are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Jeffery. Mr. Skidmore has just recently been released from the Air Force at Indiana. In-diana. Mrs. Ray Forman and children of Downey, Calif, and Lynn Gardner of Los Angeles are spending their vacation in Delta with Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Gardner. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Jay Gardner and family of Richfield and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gardner and family from here all met at a family dinner. Mrs. Fenton Gardner was in Provo Pro-vo Saturday to attend a luncheon with her lady cousins on her mother's mo-ther's side of the family. M ke Jensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Cora) Jensen of California is here visiting with Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Gardner. Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Vest family fam-ily of Rose Park, Mr. & Mrs. Kennard Ken-nard Riding & family and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Riding and family all met at the, "home of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Riding for Father's Day dinner. Miss Betty Riding of Los Angeles, Calif., called her father and visited with him.
