Mr. and Mrs. Roy Martin were here from Salt Lake and spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Nichols. A High Priest party was held in Oasis Sat., Dec. 3. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Babbitt, of Ogden, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Skeem. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Webb, of Salt Lake, visited Mr. and Mrs. Glen Skeem. Louenza Willoughby and Verta Stanworth shopped in Salt Lake this week. , Judy and Ken Skeem are down with the measles. I Lawrence Cropper and son Cor-1 dell returned from their trip to Missouri and brought home Mrs.! Edna Cropper, wno naa spent some time in the clinic. Mrs. Virgia Murray and family, of Sacramento, Calif., have been visiting here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hildlng Sjostrom. Monday morning work started on a new well at the Oasis cemetery. ceme-tery. With two wells there should be enough water for everyone to plant lawns and shrubs. Meryl Hansen of Salt Lake, a daughter of Lars Hansen, were Cecil and Eva Cahoon, Rose and Dave Nichols, and Pearl and Buck Wilkins. Mr. and Mrs. David Bishop and family visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop, Friday and Saturday. Harold Hutchings and son Mark, of Salt Lake, visited with Clark Bishops. Also, there were Dean, Derrel and Mont Bishop. A Primary party was planned for Dec. 12 for the officers and teachers and their husbands. A program and dinner will be the highlights of the party. For the Christmas program every ev-ery child who wants to give a part will have the privilege, so children, be thinking of something to do on the program. Shirley and Ralph, Brent and Brenda, spent a day in Provo, doing do-ing some stopping. Floyd, Ruby, Delene and Lee Skeem spent Saturday in Fillmore. OAK CITY Mrs. Mae H. Shipley The little son of Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Nielson was blessed and giv-n giv-n the name Jay Lynn, by hi; father. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dutson went to Sale Lake, Wednesday. Also, j Sunday they were in Salt Lake to see their missionary boy, Elder William Dutson, off for his British Brit-ish mission. Their daughter, May-vonne May-vonne and sons, Quale and Lambert, Lam-bert, went with them. William flew by plane to England. The Sunday School was in charge of a very nice program on Sunday evening. Myrna Christens was in charge. Talks were given by Burnis and Esdras Finlinson; scripture readings by Zella Ann Howard. Jane Alldredge and Janice Jan-ice Peterson, a musical reading by Loretta Pratt, acc. by Eldonna Anderson; a quartet by Newell Anderson, Norman Olson, Marie and Kathie Finlinson, Silvia Finlinson, Fin-linson, acc. The congregation songs were led by Newell Anderson, acc. by Eldonna Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Brent Lovell spent the weekend of Thanksgiving with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Mar-vin Lovell. They live at Taylor-ville. Taylor-ville. La Rue Swensen and girl friend, Carolyn Allen, visited with Mrs. Mae Shipley and other relatives, Saturday and Sunday. They returned re-turned to Salt Lake Sunday. The Oak City ladies of the Farm Bureau sponsored a very interesting in-teresting film by Dr. Milo Moody. After the film Dr. Moody answered answer-ed questions. His wife, Virginia, was with him. We wish to thank Dr. Moody and his wife for this evening of entertainment and instruction. in-struction. Funeral services for Mrs. Ely Nielson were held Saturday. She passed away Wednesday morning. Sympathy is extended to her husband hus-band Peter Nielson and children, Byron, Glen and Robert and their families, by all in Oak City. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Anderson, Mr. Ivan Shipley and Mrs. Ann Finlinson went to St. George Wednesday Wed-nesday and back Thursday. They visited with their sister, Irene Talbot Tal-bot and family; also, did two sessions ses-sions of temple work. They brot their mother home with them. She had visited ten days with Reed and Irene Talbot and their families. Steven Lovell spent the weekend week-end at Brigham City, visiting his missionary friends. Gardner entertained for his granddaughter Miss Sylvia Cropper, and her husband-to-be, Mr. Paul Sorenson, of Montpelier, Idaho, on Nevember 26, at their home with a buffet dinner. Miss Cropper and Mr. Sorenson are both students at the BYU and are planning to be married in February. Feb-ruary. They were houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. Clead Nielson. Saturday they went to Manti for a day at the temple. Sunday they were present for Sunday School and Sacrament Meeting, with Mr. and Mrs. Guy Sheriff. The Sheriff's were Provo visitors Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Evertson came down from Salt Lake and spent Sunday. They took their small daughter back home. She came down with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nielson, who were in Salt Lake for Thanksgiving. David Roberts, of Murray, was here over Sunday, with Mr. and Mrs. Dale Jones and daughters- Friday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Eatough and their girls drove to Salt Lake for the week' end, with Mrs. Kate Hayes and Dian. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Banks were here from Manti, visiting the Ab- egglens and in Delta with Rhea's mother, Mrs. Adelia Stephenson Marva and Will Whiting spent Sunday evening here at the Lile Johnsons. They had been in Delta with Mrs. Lydia Evans for the af t ernoon. They brought their pro jector and slides and showed pic tures taken of their Aug. trip to Kanab, Kiabab Forest, Lees Ferry and Glen Canyon. They returned to Mapleton after. Joe Nielson drove down from Salt Lake, Friday evening, and brot the four children of Mr. and Mrs. Kent Nielson, who left for a week trip to Chicago. Sunday afternoon Blaine took the young sters back to the city and will re main there thru the week with them. Joe went back to Salt Lake Nancy is at her father's home in Leamington, caring for the family while her mother is hospitalized at Fillmore. Stephen, Mark and Robert, came their grandparents while their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Tilman Johnson went to Salt Lake to bid Richard and David Henrie goodbye. They entrained from Salt Lake, Sunday evening for their different missions mis-sions in California. Herbert Abegglen spent Thurs day thru Saturday at Manti temple. tem-ple. His wife joined him for the day, Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Earl Talbot and children arrived Tuesday on their way to Fillmore. Mrs. Talbot's father had died suddenly Monday evening. They went on to Fillmore and returned Wednesday for an overnight .stay. The funeral was Thursday and they went back for that. Mrs. Beverly Dutson and Mrs. Jean Bradfield of Leamington drove over for the funeral sen ices also. A large group made up the wedding wed-ding party; relatives and friends from Richfield and also from this area. The Wilkins' home was the scene of the wedding reception that evening.
