Theo-bald. The matrimonial fever seems to be quite an epidemic this spring. The town of .Hinckley has an ordinance against allowing any animals loose on the streets and yet the town Marshall had 31 animals ani-mals in the estray pound last week and was out for more. Aren't we loyal, patriotic enough citizens to see that every animal is securely corralled where it cannot can-not get loose? The women have responded to the call of raising garden stuff, but isn't it outrageous to have it destroyed des-troyed and eaten up in the night by loose cows after all the hard work of raising it? Several gardens last week were hopelessly damaged by the cows, one garden losing one-fourth of a large patch of popcorn and another having 130 hills of sweet corn up high eaten off to the ground, to say nothing of the plants tramped to death. It isn't fair to let animals out in the night to feed free on the streets and your neighbor's garden. Everyone can excuse an accident, but this regular night-prowling of loose animals Is not accidental and should be stopped by everyone. Delta A section of the new 1200-ton sugar factory is now under construction con-struction on the outskirts of Delta. This factory lies in the center of 125,000 acres of rich irrigated sugar beet land and will handle during the coming campaign 10,000 acres of beets of high sugar content and a stand which promises to be phe-nomlnal. phe-nomlnal. More settlers are needed here to secure their own farms and grow beets.
