HEBER ROSE Mrs. Loraine Jones and small son from Holden visited with her folks in Sutherland Sunday. Mrs. Jones is keeping the home fires burning while her husband, Bryant is filling a mission for the LDS Church. Bryant will soon have fill ed his required time and will be coming back to be with his family again in Sutherland, where they have their home. Mrs. Hazel Walker and her two daughters, Linda and Venna, made a trip to Provo on Saturday. They took with them, Mrs. Eunice Neil-son, Neil-son, sister of Hazel's, from Lynndyl, Lynn-dyl, and visited with another sister Erma Roper. Mrs. George R. Jackson, from Salt Lake City, returned last week and is awaiting the completion of her new home in Sutherland, where she will soon reside. Mr. and Mrs. John Wind spent the weekend in Provo, visiting there with their children, Mr." and Mrs. Bernard Wind, and Mr. and Mrs. Auer Jensen and families. They returned on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. George Corry and Mrs. Keith Corry and small son, Keith, made a trip to Provo on Wednesday, returning the same day. Dorothy Corry spent the Easter Eas-ter holiday with her folks and returned re-turned Sunday to Nevada to resume re-sume her teaching responsibilities. Lyle Morgan returned home after some time spent in the LDS hos pital in Salt Lake City, where he received surgery. He feels much better and will soon be able to be around again. Mrs. LaVon Gardner, from Salt Lake, spent the Easter holiday with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Avon Barney and Gary. Its always a pleasure to see LaVon and all of the other young married people return to Sutherland, even though their time spent here Is too limited. Bishop and Mrs. Tlppetts made a trip to Nephi on Monday, returning return-ing that afternoon. Scout Master Frank Lyman, Counselor Dwight Moody, Sam Hales and Heber Rose supervised a group of scouts on a nature hike at Clear Lake on Saturday. Gary Dalton from the Y visited in Sutherland on Sunday with his fiancee, Miss Ann Henrie. Miss Jerry Johnson visited with her folks over the weekend and will leave on Tuesday to resume her work in Salt Lake: Jerry has finished her beauty training course and will take the final examination examina-tion test in June. Miss Arva Johnson from the Y also visited with her family the Earl Johnsons. Mr and Mrs Gary Robinson and small son Trace, spent the weekend week-end with the Heber Roses and the Melvin Hepworths. Gary spent some of his time in the Topaz ML area, where he did some researching research-ing for helps In his Geology work. Kenneth Porter, Rodney Porter and Robert Jackson returned home to visit with their families over the weekend. Scott Skidmore returned re-turned with them but tripped off to Logan to spend a day or two. JuVene reports she would like to be with Kenneth in his labors but Kenneth maintains the sleek red sand of Arizona would be too much for JuVene and judging from the description, it seems this may 'be so. Rodney Porter will remain in Sutherland until Thursday. Miss Gwen Lazenby was home to visit with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. El Fowles, Frank, Colleen and Sterling. Marlon Steele spent Sunday in Sutherland. Miss Virginia Dearinger, from Provo, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Porter, on Sunday. Dale Johnson spent the weekend with his folks the Earl Johnsons. Dale is employed in Wyoming. Miss LeuWanna Bunker and her fiance spent Sunday with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Bunker, and Ulaliah. M. J. Moody made a trip to Salt, Lake City, where he visited with his sons, Gordon and Phillip. Mr. and Mrs. Avery Bishop from Delta visited in Sutherland on Sun day with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Richard May and family. I We are very happy to hear of the recovery of Mrs. Jennie Thornton. Thorn-ton. Mrs. Ora Gardner and Miss Margaret Gardner of Delta, visited with Mrs. Thornton on Wednesday. Mr. Glenn is being transferred to California. He spoke t of his many friends in Millad new friends in the Nephi area. The theme of their program was "The Way To A Testimony", and demonstrated demon-strated this through music and spoken word. The program" was very outstanding both in music and speaking. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Clark made a trip to Ely, Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Oral Jenson from Pioche, Nevada, visited with his mother, Tressa Jenson, and Rex. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Losee and family made a trip to Salt 'Lake City, Alice Adams and children re- turned with them to her home in Kearns after spending a week here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Memmott. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Losee and Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Losee attended the funeral of their friend and former resident here, Adelbert Barnett, at Farmlngton, Saturday. They then went on to Morgan, and visited Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jones and family. Jim Meimburg, Doreen Shields and Pete Sheehy, made a trip to Salt Lake City to purchase a new car for Jim. Congratulations. Doris Abbott is visiting in Salt Lake City with her husband George, Geo-rge, who is in the Veterans' hospital. hos-pital. She will also visit her children, child-ren, Vance Abbott and family in Spanish Fork, and Manley Abbott and family in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Terry and family fam-ily made a trip Sunday to Ely, Nev. to visit their children, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Terry and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Doug-las Terry. We are sorry our Bishop Harold Jensen is down in bed with a bad back. We hope he will be well and out again soon for we sure miss him. We are happy to relate Mildred Oppenheimer is able to leave the hospital and return to her home in Kanosh. Verda Thomas will help take care of her for awhile, until she is stronger. Ruth Richardson from Long Beach, Calif., is visiting at the home of her friends, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Clark. She is a sister of Mrs. Hazel Hill of Ely, Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Rom Shields have gone to Jerome, Idaho, to work for the summer. We are going to miss them. All who attended the operetta of the Sutherland School are saying it's the best one yet. We congratulate congrat-ulate all the teachers, mothers and pupils for a fine performance. Mr. and Mrs. Curt Shields entertained enter-tained at Sunday dinner all their children and their families, it being Eve's birthday. Sunday night the program was given by the bishopric. Talks were given by Venice Davis, Hilda Oliver Curt Shields and Eugene Memmott. A piano solo was given by Louis Ivie. Henriette Baroen is now improving improv-ing and will soon be out and around again after having sprained sprain-ed an ankle. Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Rowley returned re-turned home Tuesday after having spent the past two weeks in Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Humphries. Mrs. Humphries just returned from ths hospital after a major operation. Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Damron a family I reunion was held. It was the first tlrre in thirty years that Mrs. Dam- ron, her mother, Mrs. Eliza Hook Taylor of Delta, and her sisters, ...... vjaia, oail lViUJULa, VUl., and Mrs. Orvil Christensen of Los Angeles, California, have all been together. A very enjoyable day was spent. Mrs. Genevieve E. Larsen and children from Spanish Fork, visited from Wednesday to Saturday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Eliason. Stanley Carter is visiting at the home of Mr and Mrs. Martin P. , Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Workmen and children from Salt Lake City, spent the weekend at the home of' Mr. and Mrs. Verdon Davis. Mrs. Cuman Cropper received word that her nephew, Richard Clyde Kelsey had been run over by a 5 ton Diesel trackless tractor on April 24 and is in the Roosevelt hospital with a broken vertabra and internal injuries. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Kelsey. Mrs. Mae Cropper was hostess to the Deseret Rook Club at her home ' on Thursday evening. Western were Mr. Eather Wood from New Harmony Har-mony and Mrs. Ivie Ballard from Salt Lake City. The program in sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday evening was put on by the Dee Black family. The Deseret Garden Club met Monday afternoon at the church ground and held a work meeting. A large number of members were present. Mr. and Mr3. Ralph Erlckson spent the weekend in Salt Lake City.
