Show J E WHITMORE grandpa whitmore died at his home early sa saturday ur ay mor morning ning from a heart attack he had been in III health for some time and this tall fall fearing that such an eventuality ml might occur friends gave them a remembrance rem embrace baity which after e vents well well justified jonathan E whitmore was 84 years old having been born in oil city pennsylvania june 22 1851 he later moved to illinois where he ran an implement and harness bus iness and in illinois be he married carrie steesa steese kennedy on jan 1 1877 mr air and mrs whitmore came to delta in 1912 thus being early plon pion aers here hel is survived by his son bert living here and a daughter mrs maud aland may white of peoria III and a step son harry kennedy and two grandchildren grandpa whitmore was beloved by his neighbors and he had a large circle of friends not only on the south tract but in oasis deseret hinckley and on the north tract of late he showed a general wearing out of lifes life a machinery and death was not wholly on friday evening he felt to well that he went to a social on the south tract until a late hour his passing was gentle as was his life funeral services were held in del I 1 ta tuesday at the first ward the speakers were clark allred E leo lyman george boyack and bishop E E gardner several beau ticul musical selections were render ed J E whitmore lived to a ripe old age respected honored and in his passing many will mourn ills life waa was even mild with gentle kindla ness toward all and he leaves a her ilage to be treasured by hie his family |
