Show Samuel Killpack Dies F Following ollo ing Stroke Samuel Killpack died at the home o of his Son Will Killpack on Sunday at the advanced age of one eighty-one following a stroke Mr Killpack had a previous previous previous pre pre- stroke about two years ago a at Sterling Utah and came to live with his sons here Mr Killpack was born in Manti Mantl Utah September 3 1859 He married married married mar mar- ried Ingri Maria Marla Funk on November November November Novem Novem- ber 7 1885 after alter her death he married Abigail Ann Brown Porter on October 28 1918 She also preceded preceded preceded pre pre- ceded him himin I in death He spent most of his life at Sterling Sterling Sterling Ster Ster- ling Utah where he had a home and small farm He was one of the sturdy turdy pioneers of Utah and has often told the writer of his many rigorous experiences of the time of his youth and young manhood manhood manhood man man- hood of the privations and deprivations deprivations deprivations coupled with hardships and with only meager returns often often often of of- ten comparing those times with the present His viewpoint on life was always kindly met with an ir- ir resi table humor and his fund of information on the early trials of himself and companions made him hima a most e entertaining companion in conversation Mr Killpack was the first white child born in Manti Mantl outside the fort With the passing of this aged and venerable man one more of Utah's stalwart pioneers fades as gently as he wished from the activities activities activities ac ac- ac- ac of the present generation His memory will be cherished by a large group of friends who knew and evaluated his sterling worth He is survived by his sons Will Marion both of Delta and Jack of Reno one daughter daugh daugh- ter Mrs Ingie Ingle Dennison of Ster Ster- ling He is also survived by three brothers and one sister Jesse Killpack Killpack Killpack Kill- Kill pack Ferrin Frank Killpack Salt Lake Eddie Killpack Provo and Mrs Clara Tuttle Brigham City He was respected by all who knew him and the sympathy of everyone is extended to the surviving surviving surviving sur sur- members of the family Funeral services were held in Sterling Wednesday and interment was held in the Manti ManU cemetery |
