Show Handicrcti Institute. Will Teach All Handicrafts Of Grandma's Days A handicraft institute for all mothers and daughters of Deseret stake will be held in Delta Friday, Fri-day, July 29 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Palomar hall. Demonstrations Demon-strations will be made during the atfernoon showing how to' do at least 20 different handicrafts. The institute is sponsored by the stake MIA under the direction of the stake beekeepers. It was planned originally to invite for instruction in-struction all ward Beekepers, the Gleaners and Junior leaders, but so many have expressed the desire to come that plans were changed and accommodations made for a larger building so that anyone wishing to could attend. Come anytime during the afternoon aft-ernoon and sit down & learn how to do any of the arts that interest you. Girls are especially urged to come as well as all youth teachers and leaders. , . Demonstrations will be made all afternoon showing how to do the following: figurine painting by Mrs. Beth Anderson; textile painting paint-ing by Mrs. Myrtis Smith; wood fiber flowers, luster clay flowers, ceraamic wall plaques and handkerchief hand-kerchief umbrella by the stake Beekeepers, Mrs. Zola Bunker, Mrs. Ellen Morrell and Mrs. Arprilla Scow; tatting by Mrs. Florence Robins and Mrs. Mary Pratt; rug hooking, rug crocheting and rug braiding by Mrs. Hilma Stewart and Mrs. Sebrina Ekins; crocheting by Mrs. Owen George, Mrs. Effie Nielson and Mrs. Evelyn Hawley; knitting by Mrs. Rebecca Stapley; and Mrs. Mary Lee; hair pin lace by Mrs. Leah Hegban; hat making by Mrs. Loa Black; silk hose mend jing by Mrs. Francis Whicker; picture pic-ture tinting by Mrs. Neva Robinson; Robin-son; oil painting and crayons by Mrs. Grethe Bishop and Mrs. Eliza Rawlinson; knotted lace by Mrs: Beth B. Kimber; quilt blocks by Mrs. Irene Little; flower arrangement arrange-ment by Mrs. Eddis Barben and how to make dolls and stuffed animals to be demonstrated by Mrs. Ida Bunker. These women will not only demonstrate de-monstrate how to do these things but they will have on dispplay some of the things they have made themselves. If you want to make the wood fiber flowers, the luster clay flowers flow-ers or the handkerchief unmbrella there will be a slight charge for the materials you will use, otherwise other-wise everything else will be free. |
