LEADERS TAKE OATH OF OFFICES An almost complete change in the regime of the county court house was made Monday, when the newly elected county officers took oath ot office and assumed their new duties. It has been a number of years since as great a change has been made in the personnel of the various vari-ous offices. New faces appear in every office and new officials will control the destines of the county for the coming two years. Monday morning the old board of county commissioners met to close all unfinished business, and at 12 o'clock noon, E. A. Griffiths, retiring retir-ing clerk of the board, swore in the new clerk, who duly administered the oath of office to the newly elected elect-ed incumbents of the other county offices. William A. Miller took over the office of county clerk, and automatically automa-tically becomes clerk of the board of county commissioners. Mr. Miller is from Milford but no stranger in the county seat. In 190S Mr. Miller server a two-year term as county assessor of Beaver county. E. A. 'Griffiths, the retiring clerk, has served ser-ved eight years in that office, having hav-ing first been elected in 1922. Taylor Farnsworth succeeds Geo. B. Skinner in the treasurer's office, the latter having relinquished the office after twenty-one years of public pub-lic service. Mrs. Jennie Gillies, who has served serv-ed one four-year term as county recorder, re-corder, and who desired to retire from public office turned the reigns of that office over to her successor, Mrs. Vella Browner, of Minersville. Jesse Baker, son of H. F. Baker o Minersville, assumed the duties as county assessor, J. H. Rollins re-firing. re-firing. Abe Murdock, of Beaver, succeeded Harold Cline, of Milford, as county attorney, while William Hurst succeeded Arch Fotheringham as county surveyor. The new members of the Board ot County Commissioners also took oath of office Monday. They were Frank Williams, of Minersville, four year term, and James Patterson, of Milford two-year term, who succeed Fred Levi and H. C. Eyre. The only officers of the old regime to remain in office were F. C. Harris, hold-over commissioner, and Neils Jensen, sheriff, re-elected at the last election. After taking the oath of office, the board adjourned for lunch, meeting again at 2 p. m. for the purpose pur-pose of organizing, making appointments appoint-ments and taking up the new business busi-ness brought before the board. F. C. Harris was chosen as chairman ot the board. Bessie Law was reappointed re-appointed as janitor of the court house building, and Mrs. Isabel Gillies Gil-lies appointed as deputy to the various var-ious county officials. E. A. Griffiths, George B. Skinner and Mrs. Jennie Gillies were appointed temporary deputies to assist the new officers until they became acquainted with the work in their respective offices. The board designated the fifth day of each month as the date for the regular meeting of the board, except when that date fell on a holiday holi-day or Sunday, in which event the day following will be selected for the regular meeting. A delegation of representative citizens from Greenville were entertained enter-tained by the commissioners. They desired the aid of the commissioners in having the ' Milford-Beaver highway high-way designated to run through the town of Greenville should the state build the proposed oiled-paved highway. high-way.
