New this year will be a variety of workshops and short courses which will be of particular interest to adults in Cedar City and surrounding communities. They will be spaced thru-ou- t k the session and may be taken without credit or with credit as you wish.. These workshops range all the way from photography to community leadership. "Education is a lifetime activity, adults should not have to give up just because they pass a certain age," i was pointed out. The purpose of the special sum mer courses is to give opportunities for education to all who are interested. five-wee- Looked like we were on our way toward another photo 'first' Sunday. A couple of weeks ago we took the only picture of the atom cannon on its run west, and last Saturday night Dera Os- born took our camera and our car out Garrison way to try to get pictures of the jet plane which crashed and killed its pilot. About midnight Dern got back to town with two nice shots, one of the wings with wheels sticking straight up in the air, and fuseanother of the battered-ulage about all that was left in large enough pieces to shoot. We rushed the negatives to The Tribune, marking the en"Develope special delivery liver to Tribue State Desk." But "some knuckleheaded postal employee" (as the State boys described him) pushed the letter through a mail slot into an office not in use, and by the time it was located, it was too late to use. The Trib editors rushed the pictures back to The News so we could use them in our paper, but they arrived on Wednesday, too late to get a cut made for this edition. Anyway, Dern has qualified as a news photographer. He got a shot that usually reporters are not permUted to get, and the proof of his ability is on display in the Milford News window.
