Primary "on vacation," will reconvene Sept. 8th. MIA, Tuesdays, 8 p. m. All are welcome. A large crowd was in attendance attend-ance at Sunday School last Sunday. Sun-day. Fast meeting was held im-mediatey im-mediatey after Sunday School, and many fine talks were given. Two babies were christened. The son of Charles and Waima Holm was given the name of Ronald Kenneth, and the daughter daugh-ter of Duane Max and Ann Maurine Yardley was given the name of Betsy Lynnette. I The MIA held a special meet-j meet-j ing Tuesday evening. The teen age girls had a panel discussion. The Special Interest group held election of officers and made plans for the coming year. There were 17 present at this class. Ice cream was served at the close of the meeting . Many, many thanks to the Primary officers, teachers and children for the fine program given and display of handiwork that was shown in the chapel ! Sunday evening. It had to be j seen for one to realize the many I hours of labor and love between j teachers and children that had taken place during the summer. These projects aie certainly worth while. The boys and girls are taught to do things with their hands besides being trained : in a spiritual way. The quilt embroidered by the Lark girls will be sent to the Children's Hospital when it is completed. The baskets woven by the boys and girls are really artistic. There were flower vases, clay modeling, embroidery embroid-ery work, hand bags, and many other fine things. A puppet show, Noah and the Ark, was very well portrayed by Mrs. Puffer and assistants after the meeting. Fireside was held at the Frank Jones home immediately after Church Sunday evening. More about Primary There were 168 in attendance, 40 of the Primary children's families answering the roll call. The money for redecorating the chapel has gone in tc the church office and work will begin be-gin as soon as materials arrive. The High Priest meeting was held at Beaver, Aug. 3. There were eight members present from the Second Ward. Genealogical meeting was held at Stanley Roberts' home July 30th. A. A. Jones conducted the meeting, and Sister Emma Smith gave a complete report of a course she took in Salt Lake City some time ago. Many fine ideas were given on how to gather genealogy. gen-ealogy. At the close of the meeting meet-ing Sister lone served real home made root beer to the 20 members mem-bers present. |
