Show Funeral Services Are Held Sunday For Alma Hollis Funeral services were held Sunday Sun-day afternoon in the Milford L. D. S. ward chapel for Alma Hollis, killed instantly the preceding Wednesday morning when he came in contact with 660-volt wires of the Telluride Power company com-pany while doing company work near the Trautmann farm in South Milford. The services were conducted by Bishop Alvin H. Baker with D. C. Heslington and Mrs. Vena Wilson of Milford and James A. Kelley of Fillmore as the speakers. The opening op-ening prayer was offered by J. W. Myers and the benediction by Bishop Baker. Among musical numbers were included selections by the ward choir and vocal solos by Mrs. Lee Gray and Bishop Baker. Following the local services the body was taken to Fillmore for interment by request of the widow, whose home was there prior to her marriage to Mr. Hollis. Hol-lis. Graveside services at Fillmore Fill-more included brief talks by Bishop Bish-op Lorenzo Brunson and President Clark Callister, two choir numbers num-bers and dedication of the grave by Milton Melville. Thomas Alma Hollis was born at Beaver March 10, 190fi, a son of Charles Thomas and Frances Crosby Hollis. He came to Milford Mil-ford as a young boy with his parents par-ents and grew to manhood here, graduating from the Milford high school. He worked for the Union Pacific system in various capacities capaci-ties and three years ago went to work for the Telluride company, being lineman and service man at the time of his death. Courteous, neat-appearing pnd likeable', Alma Al-ma was a good citizen and r,ne of the most promising young men of the community. He took quite a part in local Boy Scout activities until just recently, when he found his work hindering him from giving giv-ing as much time as he desired to the boys in his charge. He was mairied in June, 1936, to Lona Blanche Shields of Fillmore Fill-more and she, with their young son, Sharon Alma, survives him; also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Hollis and the following brothers bro-thers and sister: Charles Fairbee and Kenneth, of Milford; Ambrose of Caliente, Nevada; and Mrs. Stella Ashby of Los Angeles. M |
