Show Funeral Services For Mother of Six : Largely attended funeral ser- vices were held Wednesday after-; after-; noon in the Milford L. D. S. church j ward chapel for Mrs. Zola Lund, ; wife of Merrill Lund, Union Pa-I Pa-I cific engineer and native of Greenville, Green-ville, who was discovered dead at her home Saturday morning bj! members of her family. Though in bad health for some time, her passing came as a severe shock to people throughout Beaver county. The services were conducted by Bishop I. Mitchell Fisher and he and William P. Barton of Parowan were the speakers. Musical numbers num-bers included a vocal duet, "In the Garden", by Mrs. Harold Cline and Mrs. Clyde Griffiths; a violin solo, "Traumerai" by Kenneth C. Farrer, accompanied 'by Mrs. E. L. Smith; and a vocal duet, "Sometime We'll Understand", by Vance Fisher and Carlyle Gronning, Mrs. Parley B. Fisher accompanying the solos and playing the organ prelude and pos-tude pos-tude music. The opening prayer was by Bishop James Williams of Greenville, and the benediction by Carl Goodwin of Milford. Following the local services, the body was taken to Paragonah for further services and interment beside a baby, who died in infancy. Zola Lund was born February 21, 19C2 at Greenville, a daughter of David Miller and Julia Barton. She grew to womanhood in Greenville Green-ville arid was married to Mr. Lund May 1, 1923. They lived for a time at Paragonah and at Cedar City, moving to Milford in 1937. She was a member of the Lady Firemen organization but did not take an active part in community affairs, being of a retiring nature but having friends on every hand. iShe is survived by her husband; four sons, Phillip, Ray and LaNae, of Milford, and Mordell, in U. S. naval service at Treasure Island; two little daughters, Marlene and Connie; her mother, Mrs. Julia Griffiths of Greenville; three sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. Lucy Reece of Milford, Mrs. Priscilla McQueen of Greenville, Green-ville, and Mrs. Laura Murdock of Salt Lake City; and a brother, Morgan Griffith, of South Milford. |
