Show Single Ticket In Field For Election It is several years since there has been more than one ticket in the field for the local municipal elections, staged biennially on odd-numbered years, and this year in no exception. However, in the ''slating" of this year's ticket, though made up of first class men in every respect, more than one eyebrow has been lifted by the almost complete ignoring of present members of the town board of trustees. Not before "Til ten years or more has so little regard re-gard been shown for meritorious, though thankless, service on the part of incumbent town dads. M. H. Pool, junior member of the present town board, in time of service on the board, heads the "Progressive Ticket," as filed by petition just before the time for filing expired. With him. as the candidate for president, the candidates candi-dates for trustees are K. B. Coon, Yance Fisher, Fred MicKay and Kent Smith. Mr. Pool, former manager of the local J. C. Penney store, now has a dry goods store of his own emd does some farming on the side. Mr. Coon and Mr. McKay are both railroad men and longtime long-time residents of Milford. Mr. Fisher, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Fisher, is a native son and present pre-sent manager of the Penney store. He went into the local store following fol-lowing graduation fromi the Mil-ford Mil-ford high school and returned recently re-cently from American Fork, where he served as assistant manager. Mr. Smith, with extensive farming and stock interests in South Mil-ford, Mil-ford, has his residence in town and is employed as electrician by the Telluride Power company. There remains only a single registration day, next Tuesday, October 26, whereby otherwise qualified new residents and those who did not vote in the town election elec-tion of two years ago, may get their names on the voting lists for this year, so would-be voters mtust not overlook the opportunity to qualify. Mrs. Nellie Griffiths is the registration reg-istration agent for district 1, which includes all those living within the town limits and west o1 Main street, and the registration place is her residence. Mrs. Ed Bardsley is agent for district 2 and the residence of Mrs. Lottie Smyth is the registration place for thig district. |
