If they just happened to disc his field Monday afternoon for a - well, so much the better. The two tractors, a 130 hp. and a 180 hp., were supplied by a dealer from Fillmore. Since it isn't practical to try out a tractor without something to pull, Jerry Mayer got into the ' act. He jaunted down the road in his articulating John Deere 250 and made a couple of high speed passes around the field before relinquishing his 30 disc. In the mean time, McMullin' s 14' disc was hitched to the smaller tractor, and Mike Yardley took over. He was having so much fun that he just kept going around the field and wouldn't let anyone else have a turn. Traditionally, this is John Deere country, and time alone will tell the results of the Massey invasion. McMullin didn't comment as to whether he was satisfied with his field after the job was done.
