It's Exciting; It's If S MILFORD Fast-pace- d; VOLLEYBALL! The 1 995-9- 6 volleyball team has been getting better and better every match. The TIGERS are a senior oriented team which has been building for three years under the direction of Coach Joe Hillock. Coach calls this one of the best teams he has worked with at MHS. "The only thing holding this team back from being a State Tourney team and bringing home a trophy is it's lack of consistency. We have been playing teams we are very capable of beating. We win the first game, then can't finish it off. This has been very frustrating, and is something we are working on in every practice," he said. This is the very first year Milford has hosted a Volleyball Tourney. On Saturday, September 9, eight teams competed in the Milford Invitational. Panguitch won the championship and Milford placed third. If you haven't been to a match yet, you are missing an exciting fast pace game. Make plans to catch the next match and support your TIGERS. Back row: Dustin Whittaker (Soph), Matthew Bettridge (Senior), Ryan White (Junior), Brian Bettridge (Soph.), Kurt Jensen (Senior) and Coach Adrienne Whittaker. Front: Rachel Holm (Junior), Crystal Schofield (Senior), Lauralee Wright (Junior), Kristen Bailey (Junior), Jeep Spaulding (Freshman), Jenny White ( Soph.), Lisa Jensen, Manager and Nisha Livingston (Freshman). Team members Spencer Whittaker and Jaris White are not pictured This is the first year for Cross Country at MHS, and the team is off to a great start. It's fun, it's healthy, and it's a fitness for life program. With two meets behind them, the boys have come in 3rd both times. The girls were second at Panguitch and first at Fish Lake. The first five team members to cross the finish line score for the team according to their sequence. (First scores 1; second 2, etc.) Team with the lowest score wins. At Fish Lake Lauralee came in 2nd, Nisha 4th and Jently 5th, tying up three of the five scoring places. Milford. will host their first Cross Country event September 27 at 5:30 P.M.
