Gere plays Chicago cop Eddie Julliette, an uncompromising and unforgiving man whose partner has been killed by the bayou crime lord Losado (well played by Jeroen Krabbe). Eddie will go to any lengths to get his partner's killer, which includes going to Louisana and into the bayou. While there, Eddie runs into his only lead to Losado, Michel Duval, who has a thing for Losado while Eddie develops a thing for her. Director Richard Pearce has taken a somewhat familiar story line and turned it into a suspenseful thriller with characters that come vividly to the screen. With songs by Junior Walker, Mighty Joe Young and Michael McDonald, No Mercy is fans. for In 1955, Walt Disney Productions released the animated classic Lady and the Tramp about two dogs from different sides of the tracks who fall in love and subsequently become involved in an adventure. In the Seventies version, Kong does a swan dive off the World Trade Center, for which the judges gave him a 2.1 for the dive and he was again declared dead. Now, Dino has decided to bring back not only King kong, but Lady Kong which, in time, gives us Baby Kong. Come on Dino, cut us some slack on the schlock, huh? King Kong Lives has a script which goes from asinine to totally stupid and beyond with special effects that make Gumby look like a technical achievement. Naturally, Dino bings back director John Guillerman who directed the remake and now should be made to stand in the corner where he can't pollute the screen with such garbage. It won't scare anyone, there ' are no real thrills and even though monkeys don't bark, this one is a definite woofer which should be passed by with all due haste. In fact, if anyone bothers to interview anyone connected with King Kong Lives, we suggest they stand on their rights under the fifth amendment which seems to be real popular these days.
