Ruland Lawson, post commander, will assist with activities as well as other auxiliary members. the John Preston Creer, Salt Lake City, was sworn in Monday as a member of the Salt Lake County commission, fill ing a vacancy that existed fori y a few hours less than the deadline which would have placed the appointment in the hands of the governor. Seven hours before the deadline Commission Chairman Marv Jenson and Commissioner William G. Larson agreed on the appointment of Creer on Friday. Previously, Jenson had to support the governor's choice, reportedly Creer. At Friday's commission meeting Larson asked Jenson to make a choice from the top three names submitted by the county's Democratic Central Com. mittee. It has been reported that the ' committee's balloting placed Creer in a tie with N. D. "Pete", Hayward for second place, hind Allen T. Howe. Creer is a former deputy county attorney, legislative as- -' sistant to Rep. Davis S. King, and a member of the law firm of David L. McKay and Wilford M. Burton. The vacancy on the commission occurred in February when C. W. Brady resigned to accept appointment by Gov. Cal vin Rampton as public safety commissioner. . Air Force senior noncommissioned officer academy at McClellan AFC, Calif. Sgt. Graziano is a dradar maintenance technician with an Air Forco Communications Service (AFCS) unit at Hill AFB, Utah. His squadron supports the AFCS mission of maintaining communications for control of global Air Force operations. Palmer, all of Riverton, have been appointed home firearms safety instruc- tors, it is announced by the National Rifle Assn., sponsor of a new course designed to help reduce shooting accidents in the home. The NRA course promotes safety among those who normally do not use firearms for recreation but have them in their home. The assessed valuation of $2,085,236 in 1964 would drop to an estimated $286,000 if the copper companies disconnect. Bingham's budget last year was $61,960, per capita cost of $688 for the 90 or so persons still living in incorporated Bingham. Residents of Bingham were informed of the copper companies' action at a public meeting last Tuesday. Greenwood learned to service and repair various types of radio transmitters and receivers. The reservist completed basic training at Fort Polk, La.
