Danny's brother, Robert Valenzuela. was injured in an accident at Dig Cottonwood Canyon several months before his brother's accident. He suffered a broken leg. Danny was born May 30, 1945. in Grand Junction, Colo., a son of Mr & Mrs. Leo Valenzuela. Gregory Knight, was critically injured Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. when he rode his cart down the driveway of his home onto 7200 South and was hit by a westbound car. Gregory is the son of Mrs Ernest Smith, 1C85 East 7200 South, Cottonwood Heights. He suifered a SKuii fracture, fractured pelvis, compound fracture of the left leg, and possible internal injuries. The boy was knocked and carried 42 feet by the impact. The car was driven by Mrs Merle M. Eskelscn, 42, 7258 South 16th East, according to Salt Lake County Deputy Sheriff Bill Timmerman. Sewer Bond Dropped: No New Plans The sewer bond issue has been dropped, as least for a while. After two misses, one hit, but no scores, at the polls, officials of the South Salt Lake County Sewer Improvement District No. 1 will forego plans for immediate development of the system. Three elections have been held lor the project. Two were defeated. Une was approved, but was invalidated by Uie Utah State Supreme Court. The recent election was defeated by a margin. 1,960 votes were cast in the last election. The figure represents less than of the cligiole voters. The proposed bond issue would have cost taxpayers in tbe Riverton, Draper, Crescent. The new building will be located north of Draper at 11351 South 10th East and will be the 10th central office in the Salt Lake Metropolitan area. It will be equipped to handle touchtone (push-button- ) calling, according to Menzies Benson, central district manager for Mountain States Telephone. Cost of the building, associated outside lines and central office equipment, will be approximately $1,200,000. Plans call for the structure to be completed by the end of this year with the new system being placed in service in June of 1965. Tolboe Construction Co., is the geenral contractor on the were building. awarded to W. D. Gale and Allied Plumbing and Heating Co., for the electrical and mechanical work. The building will be constructed of reinforced concrete with a norman brick facing. Polished cast stone will be used in the entrance. It will have a frontage a long 10th East of 123 ft. and will be 57 ft. deep. It will be used as an equipment building only. The business office to serve the area will continue to be in Midvale. Telephone customers living in Draper, White City, Granite, Riverton, and the surrounding areas currently receiving multiparty telephone service, will be offered one and two party service when the project is completed, Mr Dcnson said. He pointed out that, generally speaking, those customers living cast of State St., south of Dry Creek in Salt Lake County will be served from the new office. Many of these people are presently being served from Kiverton. The new building project will relieve the load on the Riverton office and make it possible to service in provide improved that area also, he said.
