MYRTLE OSTLER, Reporter and Subtcription Agent Old Folks Awarded Sandy P-T- Fetes A Founders' Day At Sandy Social AssociaSandy Parent-Teache- r tion Founders Day program and business meeting was held Thursat Sandy school, day at 2:30 p m t honoring the pa-s- presidents of the group, under the direction of Mrs Chester Hendrickson, president, with Mrs Bertha Setterberg in charge of the meeting. The program included opening remarks by Marlon Bateman. Reports on curtains for the elemen-tarschool, and on the school lunch program, were given by Mrs Ruth Sterling. Mrs C C Pingree of Granite was elected as district council member, succeeding Mrs Wilma Rasmussen. At the program following the business session, musical numbers were presented by a string ensembleDorothy Charlene Bailey, Ka-Mickelsen and Joy Beckstead. Zelma S Thompson, a past presiand librarident of Sandy an of Sandy, enlarged upon the Founders Day program. A vocal solo, "Flag Without a Stain," was given by Mrs Paul C Boyce. Mrs Anna 0 Johnson, 83, and James Yates, 77, were the oldest woman and man from Sandy Second ward; Mrs Hedvig C S John-eo87, and Barnard Anderson, 81, were the oldest from Sandy Third ward; Mrs Emily Bradbury, 82, and Victor Simonson, 82, were the oldest from Sandy Fourth ward. Mr & Mrs Alma Lynn Dowding of Salt L&'ke announce the arrival of a daughter Sunday, Feb. 22, at St Mark's hospital, who will be named "Linda Christine." Mrs Dowding is the former Miss Deanne Talbot of Midvale.
