Fcisoiiai MIDVALE SENTINEL THE high and roily from the heavy winter snows. This condition tended to concentrate greater numbers of anglers on the lakes and reservoirs. It was here that general hard winds kept boats off these waters and resulted in lighter catches than had been expected conditions, as shown by reports coming to Department offices. Fish Lake in Sevier County, one of the best known and most fished of all the states stillwaters, was chosen for a road check of fishermen leaving that area Saturday. The following figures indicate the 540 cars angler success there: checked; 1275 licenses; 6051 rainbow, 92 mackinaw, 226 eastern brook, 77 native, for a total of 6446 trout taken; average lingth was 12 Vi inches. The average to slightly over 5 fish per license checked. It is estimated that there were well over 4000 fishermen in this area alone. At one time 575 boats were counted on the lake. At the same time 126 fishermen were counted along an estimated one mile of the shoreline. Ample stocks of legal and other size trout remain in the 12 state hatcheries for planting as the season progresses. Streams which were not planted previously be cause of high and roily waters will receive a normal supply of these fish as water conditions permit. e, VIFft Utah's anglers gave more heed HIT-RU- fiel-ai- r FOODS WORTH FREEZING ARE WORTH FREEZING ORANGE J (fSS iWM WELL 5j&5ffe 1 Knff ft IcfS (LD WORRELL'S CH D NEW tAnGE SIZE T ly h m FWMiir and ...
