Phone Mid. 266-W L The Sandy city council this week authorized the use of rooms on the second floor of the city hall to be used as a 'teen age recreation room, to be operated in conjunction with the Salt Lake County Recreation department, Mayor J. M. Boyden announced. A juke box will be placed in the room. An experienced supervisor will be in charge. The place will be open on Monday and Saturday evenings. Derrell Bills, chairman, and the recreation committee will be in charge of the project. Other interested local organizations have been invited to join the council in the grand opening which will be held in the near future. It will be open to . 0 u t s1.d e sport s W1'11 th e pu bl 1c. be promoted during the summer I The 'council granted permission to the American Legion to hold a Fourth of July celebration, plans to erect stop signs at key points throughout the city and decided to institute parallel parking along Main street and some side streets in the near future. Also decided at the meNing was a plan to landscape the city park between Second and Third streets and on the south side of Main street, with lawn, shrubbery a11d whatever else a landscape artist suggests. The matter of increasing the size of the city by annexing adjoining real estate on all sides of the city was discussed.
