The affair was a success !rom start to finish, and was one of the finest entertainments ever staged here. • Mayor Rasmussen wishes us to extend his thanks to all the civic and church organizations • which assisted in making the veterans' homecoming event such a success. It was a job well done. Sandy "Midgets" Win. State Title In Softball Play The Sandy Midgets not only won the Salt La ke county championship, but also the state championship in the softball play by defeating Taylorsville 18 to 14 in the initial round of the tournament played in Murray city park. The Midgets continued their winning ways to take in their stride Bingham, 21 to 7; and the final game with Scussell's allsta rs to the tune of 35 to 6. The champs were presented the first state midget team trophy. The boys were h ighly comm ended for· their playing and sportsmanship.
