Hinckley, formerly of the northern states mission and Mrs. Hinckley were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Horace T. Godfrey. President Hinckley was the guest speaker at the Sunday evening services. Music was furnished by the ward choir. Officers of the Relief society entertained at a banquet and social Tuesday afternoon in honor of the visiting teachers of the ward. Luncheon was served at two long tables. After which the following program was presented: community singing; quartet, Mrs. Lillian Ewell, Mrs. Mary Walker, Mrs. Alice Berrett and Mrs. Martha Steed; accordian solo, Mrs. Rachel M. Forbush of the stake board; jokes, Mrs. Ellen Nance; duet, Mrs. Tessie Rich and Mrs. Verda Knowlan. Mrs. Ada Glover of the stake board was in attendance. Games and refreshments were enjoyed. Mrs. E. E. Boggess is confined at the St. Mark's hospital where she is being treated for a heart condition. Her many friends are hoping for a speedy recovery. Mrs. Sarah Forbush, Aunt Sade, as she is called by so many, is reported to be very seriously ill at her home. The state Farm Bureau cooperative health committee called a meeting of all county health committees Wednesday at 10 a. m. in the Dooley building in Salt LakP.. Edna G. Hogan, chairman of the Salt Lake county committee, attended. Edith Bateman was rushed to a Salt Lake hospital for an appendicitis operation Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ben McAllister and small daughter of Bingham spent the week end in West Jordan and Union visiting relatives. A. held a social and dance at the Riverton junior high school Friday. The following program was presented: community sing.ing, led by Gladys Densley, accompanied by Marion West; invocation, Reynold Bills; welcome address, President Nellie Berrett; question box explained by Third Vice President Agnes Densie, and second vice president introduced the teachers of the school and the room mothers; trio, Bluffdale mothers; accordian solo, Mildred Page, accompanied by Merl Green; skits, with the mothers and fathers participating. There were booths where candy, pies, doughnuts and cider, ice cream, and handkerchiefs were sold during the evening. The Riverton Flower club had a beautiful display of flowers and at the close gave flow· ers away. A prize for the best skit was given. The prizes for the largest attendance of parents was awarded to Miss Vickers' and Miss Ellen Milliner's rooms. Mrs. Thomas I. Page was entertained at a party at her home Monday, October 30 by the Page Family Birthday club, held in honor of her 58th birthday anniversary. Covers were laid for her mother, Mrs. Jeannette Crane of Herriman, Mrs. Thomas P. Page, Mrs. Gwynne Page, Mrs. Hattie Freeman, Mrs. Zach T. Butterfield, Mrs. John I. Miller entertained Sunday evening, October 29 in honor of their mother, Mrs. Miller's, birthday anniversary. A profusion of fall flowers and beautiful ferns artistically decorated the reception rooms. Dinner was served to 35 guests including the childen and grand children. The table was centered with flowers and creamcolored tapers burned in silver candle sticks. Mr. and Mrs. Miller are the parents of 10 children, six of whom are l~ving: Mrs. Ray L .
