Sharp and son, Stanley, and Mrs. P. A. Swenson left Saturday for a short trip to Rupert, Idaho. They will visit Mrs. Frank Butler and family. Mrs. Maxine C. Greenwood left Thursday for her home in DeMoines, Iowa, after a six weeks' visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Clayton. T. Donald Creer arrived home in Washington, D. C., Sunday morning after a ten day visit with his wife, Beatrice, Simper Creer and son, Tommy, and Mrs. Annie Simper who have spent the past five months here. They expect to leave November 15 to join him and spend the winter at the nation capital. M. I. A. conjoint meeting was held in the ward chapel Sunday evening under the direction of President H. W. Jorgensen. Miss Fay Bowen gave vocal solo numbers accompanied by Mrs. J. W. Johnson, both of Midvale. Organ solos, "The Deepening Trials" and "To a Wild Rose," were capably rendered by Miss Elva Glover. Mrs. T. Donald Greer, contralto, sang "West of the Great Divide," Mrs. Gertrude F. Shard accompanying. Mrs. Ryman of Salt Lake City, delivered an address which was very much enjoyed. Tommy Allsop of Stockton, son of Mrs. Goldie Allsop left Tuesday for his home after a short visit with his family. Mr. and Mrs. John Sorensen of Ely, Nevada, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Axell Christensen. Mr. Sorensen is a teacher in the White Pine high school there. Mrs. L. W. Greer, Mrs. Jessie Berrett, of Union, Mrs. Walter Brown of Salt Lake, Mrs. Earl Evans, Mrs. Lester Forbush, Mrs. R. H. Clayton and the hostess. Following their business meeting luncheon was served. Mrs. Leo Glover, Mrs. C. A. Rosenhan, Mrs. Claude Bird, Mrs. Jas. Glover, Mrs. Ferris Jensen, Mrs. Leslie A. Gordon and Mrs. P. A. Swenson met at the home of Mrs. Elmer Glover Thursday and enjoyed a quilting party. About one hundred young people of the combined M. I. A. who are appearing in various acts of different wards in the road show which was shown Monday and Tuesday evening throughout the stake gathered at the ward chapel Saturday evening and gave a preview of the show to a large audience of M. I. A. workers who had played an important part in composing music and dancing numbers, also the drama work in getting the acts ready for presentation. Mr. and Mrs. Irven Swenson were American Fork visitors Sunday. Miss Orpha Soffe was a dinner guest at the Axell Christensen home S'unday afternoon. Leonard Millerberg has been elected chairman of the ward bazaar committee, with Earl D. Evans and Axel! Christensen as his able assistants. They are starting to formulate plans together with the different auxiliary heads for what they hope will be a social and financial successful bazaar which will be held December 8 and 9 at the ward chapel. About fifty immediate members of the family gathered at the home Of Mr. and Mrs. George Millerberg Monday evening to honor them on their golden wedding anniversary. UNION Mrs. Kenneth Goff of Murray was a guest Sunday of her mother, Mrs. Maude Proctor. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Forbush and Mrs. Bessie Forbush motored to Garfield on Sunday where they were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Snow. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Ancel Rich, former residents of Union. M. I. A. conjoint meeting was held Sunday evening at the ward chapel. Former Bishop Ephraim Wahlquist <>f Grant ward was guest speaker and Miss Lois Ewell gave vocal solos. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Allred of Provo were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Greer. Mrs. Walter Thomas and daughter of Salt Lake visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Dellis Forbush. Twenty parents of Union school children enjoyed a most unusual affair at the school building ThursThey had the day evening. privilege of going to school, attending the various classes and listening fo instructions from the teachers. They also viewed well arranged exhibits on every phase of school work and pronounced it a very enjoyable evening. Members of the "U" club were entertained at Keeley's Wednesday evening in Salt Lake. Dinner was served at 7 o'clock. Mrs. C. I. Goff of Midvale acted as hostess. Dr. Curtis of Salt Lake will talk to all the young people of the Sunday school next Sunday morning. His subject will be "Chastity." Buxton's old time dance orchestra furnished music for a large crowd Saturday evening in the ward amusement hall. They will play each Saturday night hereafter until further notice Is given. WEST JORDAN Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hibbard and twin sons, Dean and Jean and Mrs. Mava Nichols of Piunte, California, returned to their home during the week after visiting friends and relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Christensen and family of Delta, have moved to West Jordan to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Price and family moved during the week to Blackfoot, Idaho, where they will make their home. Mr. and Mrs. William Evans of Murray have moved to West Jordan to make their home for the present. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gardner and Vaudis Olson of Salt Lake City and Albert Olson were dinner guests of Mrs. Rulon Goff on Sunday, after which they attended the funeral of Bishop Haun.
