Saturday, February 9 at 3:30 p. m. after having been closed for three weeks, announces Mrs. B. A. Rasmussen, chairman of the Library board. The library will be opened on the following days each week from 3:30 to 7:30 p. m. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Everyone who has books out should return them at once, says Mrs. Rasmussen, as they are far past due. Several new books will be added to the library shelves upon opening; They are as follows: Fiction-Goodby Mr. Chips by James Hilton; Forty Days of Musa Dagh, Franz Werfel; So Red The Rose, Stark Young; Lost Horizan, James Hilton; Piteairns Islands, Charles Nordhoff and Jas. N. Hall; Mary Peters, Mary Ellen Chase; Israfel, Hervey Allen; Heaven's My Destination, Thornton Wilder; .James Shore's Daughter, Stephen Vincent Benet; This Little World, Francis Brett Young; and Summer Leaves by Dennis Mackail. · Non-Fiction-Challenge to Liberty by Herbert Hoover; New Frontiers by Henry Wallace and Acres of Diamonds. · Several new books of modern poetry, together with many new books for the juvenile section, have also been added to the library. All of the first list of books have been classed as the outstanding fiction for the past year. Forty Days of Masu Dagh by Franz Werfel was selected as the book of the month for December and Heaven's My Destination by Thornton Wilder was selected as the book of the month for January. Each month the Midvale library has a circulation of 1000 books, and boasts the largest reading public of any library of its size. Midvale To Celebrate On Fourth Of July Mayor L. S. Rimington has given out the announcement that Midvale will again celebrate the nation's birthday in a big way on the Fourth of July, 1935. Committees will be appointed immediately, said the Mayor, to carry out all phases of the work incident to staging an event three or four times more gala than the ultra gala festivities thrown last year. Many new features are in contemplation together with all the best of those used last year for the entertainment of Midvale visitors. Joe M.
