Joy and daughters of Tooele were in Midvale Sunday and visited with Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Phelps. Mr. and Mrs. George W, Cox were guests Saturday evening at an entertainment given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Bergener of Murray. Mrs. H. E. Phelps attended a meeting of her club held in Salt Lake Thursday at the home of Mrs. E. D. Trout. Mrs. Arthur Patience and Mrs. Aaron Home won prizes at the entertainment given by Mrs. Geo. W. Cox Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. George W. Goetz, who have spent the past two years In Milwaukee, Wis., are in Midvale visiting relatives. Miss Bertha Lind and M1as Tbula Ohlson lett Sunday for a week's visit with Miss Ohlson's parents in Ashton, Idaho. While there they will attend the dog derby. Mr. and Mrs. Inar Larson and Mrs. Larson of Magna were dli!IIler guests Thursday of last week at the home of Mrs. J. M. Despain. A pleasant afternoon was spent at the home of Mrs. R. H. Clayton last Friday when the members of the Nebo Stake Relief society board, with whom Mrs. Clayton bad been associated in Payson, met at her home. The guests included Mrs. Hepsy Lewis of Provo, Mrs. Lillie Brown of Draper, and the following from Payson: Mrs. A. L. Curtis, Mrs. J. M. Reid, Mrs. Jennie R. Hlll, Mrs. Hazel P. Coray, !lrs. Adelia S. Dixon, Mrs. Ada J. Taylor, Mrs. Alta Lindsay, Mrs. Louise Cox and Mrs. Julia Hancock. At the Community club meeting held Wednesday, the program was in charge of the child welfare committee. Tentative arrangements were made for the election of officers, which will be held March 5. Mrs. IS• Olson gave a demonstration of kindergarten work. A reading was given by Mary Mutch and a dance by Annie Loranger and Mary Dean Gilbert. Tea was served following the meeting. Dr. and Mrs. Joseph 0. Jones are receiving congratulations on the birth of a daughter. 1'his is the second child and the first daughter In the Jones family. Mrs. Hannah Anderson has aa her guest her daughter, Mrs. Laura Brinley of Watsonville, Calif. Friday of last week the ReUef society of the First ward gave an entertainment for the visltlDg teachers of the organization. A program was given and dainty refreshments were served. Mrs. Roy Watson entertained at dinner Monday evening. Covers were laid for eight guests. Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Larson entertained at dlDn.er Mon~y even!Dg. Covers were laid for aixteen.
