Mr. Claud Garside and daughters, Florence and Beverly of Los Angeles California are spending the winter with his sister, Mrs. George Henderson. Miss Ida Egbert arrived home Sunday after spending a week visiting her sister, Mrs. G. S. Smith, of Grace Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Smith and daughter, Mary, accompanied her home and were guests of their mother, Mrs. Arminta Egbert Sunday and Monday Mary and Ida left Sunday evening for Provo where they will spend the winter attending the B. Y. U. Mrs. Lydia Bateman and daughter Lucile spent Sunday in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Woolf are spending their honeymoon in California where they expect to spend the winter. Mrs. Woolf was formerly La Von Harbach of this ward. Mrs. Arminta Egbert and son, Ross visited in Provo Sunday, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Christen Jensen. Mrs. William McEwen of Salt Lake is improving at the Holy Cross Hospital where she underwent an operation Tuesday of last week, Mr. and Mrs. Mch.wen were formerly of this ward. 'l'he many friends of Mr. and Mrs. William Landers sympathize with them in the loss of their infant daughter, who died at Midvale last Sunaay. Mrs. Landers was formerly Mae Brown of this ward. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cundick, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cundick and daughter, Norma, Harvey Cundick and Roy Silcox spent Sunday at Coalville. Mrs. W. K. West Jordan won second place in Art and also second prize in Iiower display. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Price announce the marriage of their daughter, Eva, to John L. Bodell, of HerritlL&.n, which took place this week. A kitchen shower was given in honor of the bride Monday night at the home of Miss Roberta Trane. Progressive games were played, prizes going to .M:iss Eudora Webster and Mrs. Anthony Bodell. Refreshments were served to the following guests, Miss Jessie Farmer, Phyllis Boudell and Mrs. Anthony Boudell of Herriman; Ji;velyn Bird, Virginia Bateman, Doris CunUick, Fay Orgill, Violet Squire, Eva Webber, Viola and Eudora Webester, Lavenia Evans, Venetia McAllister, Ellen Trane, Afton Gardner, Merle Pixton, Violet Lancaster and Hyacinth Haun. Mrs. 0. H. Bateman and infant son Gale, of Magna spent Monday and also Tuesday visiting her mother in· law Mrs. Lydia Bateman. Mr. and Mrs. Schiler Call of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Buckley and Mrs. Elzina Buckley motored to Provo Sunday and were guests of Miss Amelia Buckley and other relatives. Miss Mina Pugh of Kanab who has spent the past month in the northern part of the state spent the week end at the home of Mrs. A. L. McAllister Monday they were guest of Mrs. D. L. McAllister of Salt Lake. Miss Vesta Lancaster joined a party of friends and attended the Peach Day Celebration at Brigham City on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Bateman and family spent Saturday at Heber City guests of Mr. and Mrs. Winterose. Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Bateman enter· tained at a chicken dinner Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. Lisle Swensen and the children, Jennie and Lisle. Miss Mary Armstrong of Sandy, Miss Cora Beck strum of Murray and Orland· Bateman of Burley, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Bernice Bateman spent Monday night as guest of Miss Annabefi Cannon of Salt Lake. Children of Mrs. Annie Greenwood gathered at her home Monday evening in honor of her 72nd birthday anniversary.
