Show Thursday, July 23, 1931 HERRIMAN ITEMS Mrs. Sarah J. Butterfield and daughter, Ruth, spent last week in Payson, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Bigler and family. Mrs. Spencer Miller entertained a number of friends at her home Monday evening of last week. Games and music were enjoyed and refreshments were served to Miss Bernice Freeman, Miss Fay Eastman, Miss Tola Christensen, Miss Mildred Butterfield, Miss Leola Freeman, Miss Lillis Forman, Miss Dot Crump, Miss Mary Butter· field and Mrs. Miller. Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Stocking and Mrs. Emma Butterfield, all of Riverton, were the guests of Bishop and Mrs. F. T. Crane and family during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Crane and daughter, Gwendolyn, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Bigler of Payson part of last week Miss Ryllis Freeman returned home from Idaho, Wednesday, after an absence of three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Orvil Freeman entertained at a dinner at their home Sunday. The Second ward M. I. A. entertained at a party at the ward house Wednesday, at an oldtime dance and program and a "country store." The festivities marked the conclusion of the sale of memorial coins by the Second ward M. I. A., the proceeds of which are to be contributed to a memorial fund to be used in a nationwide movement to commemorate pioneer trails and landmarks. All pioneers were honored guests. Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Burgon have moved to Sandy to make their home. Miss Elaine Holt of South Jordan spent the week as guest of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Butterfield; also Mrs. William Holt and Miss Ann Holt of south Jordan were guests on Monday. Miss Zelma Butterfield was honored guest of Mrs. Rosanna A. Green of Alberta, Canada, on Saturday. Mrs. Green is visiting in Salt Lake with her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Gwynne Page had as their guests Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sleater of Salt Lake, Duke Page of Nephi, Orin Berrett and Clyde Terry of Draper. Refreshments were served. UNION Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Berrett and children of Riverton enjoyed a picnic party in Millcreek canyon, Sunday. Mrs. Joe Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Prive visited the past week in Monroe, guests of Mrs. Ann Pidct Theron Smart and Ellis Waide of Ogden are enjoying a fishing trip to the Strawberry. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Greer have as their house guests E. B. Bushnell and Mr. and Mrs. James Judd of Delta. They expect to stay until after the Covered Wagon Days celebration in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Gregory, Alice, Eva and Bert Wright of Bingham were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Mauckley of Taylorsville. Mr. and Mrs. Horace W. Burgon returned Wednesday from Vernal, where they spent a week with relatives and friends. While there they enjoyed a few days at Diamond mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Gregory had as their week-end guests, Alice, Eva and Bert Wright of Bingham. Saturday evening members of the Good Time club enjoyed a very pleasant evening at Geneva. Bathing and dancing were the diversions. Forty were present. Sunday school officers and teachers and members of the New Testament class enjoyed a trip to Saratoga, Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Horace W. Burgon attended the Farmers' Encampment which was held Friday and Saturday at Logan. Several different phases of the 4-H club work were taken up. Twelve hundred people from different parts of the state were in attendance . Miss Lucille Garrett of Union and Mrs. Bertha Berrett Moore of California, formerly of Union, were among those who enjoyed the 1925 Alumni Jordan High school class party at Saratoga, Thursday evening. Women of Union who would like to enter the flower show to be held in Midvale, August 5, will please confer with Mrs. Clyde Soffe.
