JOROA T KES TO AXED FLOO After a .successful seaso.n in basketball, Jordan athletes took to the waxed floor several weeks ago. The boys played the class serie21 with the real "old ginger" the sen. . 10rs wmmng. Coach Ballard then decided that he would get down to the business of picking squads. The first squad, • which consists of sixteen player·, is made up as follows: Leo Batema.n, Jesse Casper Kay Larson, Dell Smith, Elmo Brady "Dawn" Milne, Theo. Dwight, Weldon Matthews, Harold Richards, Lovell Densley Laverl Densley, Venoy Bens;n, · Sheldon Vincent, Rodney Kimball, Blaine Anderson, and Lyle Read.ing. Coach Ballard is optimi!'ltic on J ordan'!'l chance to gain the coveted championship title of the Jordan Tooele divi!'!ion. He seems Tery pleased whe;n he looks over his array of hoop material. He has a team of lettermen back. Honorable "Bate" as pivot man, "Prexy" Casper as guard; "Elon gated" Larson as guard "Society Red" Smith a!'! forward and that ' small mixture of Scotch and Irish lightning "Dawn" Milne. There i~ also a fine array of hopefuls from last year's sophomore team: "Well Do;ne" Matthews "Git" Brady; "Fat" Benson, Rod "Crozier" Kimball, "Cookee Pusher" Reading and "Bruiser" Densley. Two men from last years squad are more than giving a good fight for a berth on the fir t time. They are "Shelly" Vincent, the all around good athlete from Pio11eer Avenue, Sandy, Utah, and Theo. Dwight, alias "Tea Sipper" from '\Vest Jordan. Some other splendid material has been discovered also in the find of "Chris" Richardson a.nd Lave1·l Densley. It is a well known fact that, of all the districts in Utah the Jordan-Tooele Division has the stiffest and best competition among its teams. Jordan believes it is going to have a good team and, though it has a very hard schedule to meet, hopes to come out .on top. The schedule of games as as follows: Jap.. 6th-Jordan at Grantsville Jan. 13-Tooele at Jordan. Jan. 2()--.Cyprus at Jordan. Jan. 27-Jordan at Bingham. Feb. 3-Jordan at Murray. Feb. 10---Grantsville at Jordan. Feb. 17--.Tordan at Tooele. Feb. 21-Jordan at Cyprus. Feb. 25-Bi.ngham at Jordan. March 2-Murray at Jordan. .
