According to the latest reports from the City and County Building, the auclit will be finished this week and the voters will then await the action of the county commission. Just what their action will be, of course, no o.ne knows, but it should be decisive and prompt. Such dealings with public funds calls for immediate measures. The Journal has been investigating for some time rumors of irregularities in other departments of the County. Upon completion i.n the near future, these findings will be published. Well may the voters in the county wo,nder what is coming next. It seems as tho things are just getting started, the pot is boiling and the overflow has a stench to it that, politically speaking, bespeaks much to the uninitiated. PROWLER ENTERS PENNEY STORE About three o'clock Wednesday morning, policeman Dewey Canning, while maki,ng his rounds, discovered the back door of the J. C. Penney Co. store open. Upon investigating it was discovered that a prowler had enterE!d the store through the skylight. Manager E. R. Benson was called and after checking, nothing was found to be missi,ng. The opinion was that the prowler was frightened away by the approach of policeman Canning, before he had the opportunity to accomplish his purpose.
