Beth Johnson, both assigned to work in area high schools and familiar with the local situation, answered questions from the their audience following presentations. Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at West Jordan City Hall with the February meeting scheduled for the Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. under the direction of a group known as the Cottage Program. The emphasis will be on alcohol abuse which Deputy Sharp stated is currently the most prevalent form of drug abuse among the youth and is a much greater problem than most citizens realize. Those involved with the Cottage are dedicated to Program in a support position assisting families and friends of the alcohol persons with the problem. Information about the program could be of real value to every citizen as someone you know might have need of your assistance with their loved one. Guests were 38 youths, age 13 to 17, from a Santaquin, Utah ward. Each youth was a week end guest in a seventh ward home. was Transportation provided by their Santaquin ward. Friday night they were entertained by their hosts. Saturday morning the boys attended activities at the Deseret Gym while the girls were shopping at the Cross Roads Mall. At noon the youth were served lunch and enjoyed a program at the ward house.
