The growth of air mail and cargo movement has been even more spectacular. The airport area, he said, recently expanded by purchases of more land, is now nearly as great as the entire city of Salt Lake. The manager noted that in the past six years a master plan for expansion of the airport has been developed and is now ready for final approval. Bywater assured that there has never been any plan to move general aviation out of Airport No. 1, and immediate plans include more hangars and tiedown for light aircraft. "Private aviation will grow and we are providing for it," he said.
