Smart Bridge Party Given By Hostesses One of the smartest affairs of the spring season was the luncheon given by two hostesses, Mrs. J. Hollis Aylett and Mrs. Kelvin Aylett, at the Kelvin Aylett home on Lincoln street Wednesday afternoon. The rooms were beautifully decorated with spring flowers and an attractive arrangement of violets were used on the small tables. Old fashioned valentine suggestive of St. Patrick's day decorated with violets were used as favors where places were marked for 20 guests. Mrs. Hyrum P. Cannon, Mrs. George Cox and Mrs. Elmo Christiansen won the prizes for the afternoon bridge games. Peiersons Entertain At Dinner and Theatre Members of the district school board and their wives were entertained at a dinner and theatre party in Salt Lake City Friday evening. The affair was given by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Peterson of Sandy. Midvale Students Hold Dance The Midvale junior high school student body entertained at a Leap Year party and dance Friday evening at the school for members of Midvale and the Jordan district junior high schools. Dancing was enjoyed until a late hour and refreshments were served. Union Legion Auxiliary Holds Meeting The American Legion auxiliary of Union met at the home of Mrs. Peter Van on Thursday evening, March 7. Two auxiliary members of the Murray unit were guests. Following the business meeting the ladies joined the legionnaires for a social hour and refreshments. Ten ladies of the auxiliary met at the home of Mrs. Ira Proctor on Friday to hear Mrs. Eleanor Nelson of Logan, Utah department president of the American Legion auxiliary, and Lavon Penny of Murray, district membership chairman. The selling of the poppies on Poppy day was also discussed. Following the meeting refreshments were served. I ASCENSION EXPLAINED .Marriage of Daughter Announced This Week Mr. and Mrs. James Nelson of Sandy announce the marriage of their daughter, Miss Clara Wright, to George Kelson, son of Mrs. Hannah Kelson, of Ogden, which took place Saturday evening at the Kelson home in Ogden. A dinner and reception followed the marriage ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. James Nelson entertained at a wedding social on Wednesday evening at the Congregational church in Sandy honoring the couple. Vari-colored tulips were used in the decorations. The informal serving was in charge of Mrs. John Day of Draper, Mrs. Everett Butterfield of East Midvale and Miss Erma Jenkins of Midvale. There were 4 present. The members of the Kelson family entertained at a miscellaneous shower at the Kelson home in Ogden, honoring the bride.
