Powell was hostess to the L. F. A. club Wednesday evening at the regular meeting. FollowIng a short business session, a soelal hour was enjoyed. Mrs. T. W. Pugmire won the prize. Mrs. H. E. Phelps was a guest Thursday of Mrs. Frank Hart of Salt Lake. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Jones, September 20. Mother and baby are at the Midvale Maternity home and are reported as doing ~celv. Mr. and Mrs. J. .aa.. Warner entertained the Evening Bridge club Wednesday at their residence on First avenue. The guests numbered twelve and were served refreshments following the games. Mrs. Alice Rosse has gone to Los Angeles, Calif., to be with her daughter there. At her apartment in the Phelps buildlJl&", last Wednesday evening, Mrs. E. W. Robinson was hostess to members of her bridge club at the initial meeting of the season. Eight guests were present. Mrs. Sarah Despain of Granite is a guest at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. apd Mrs. J. M. Despain. J. P. Hansen of Ephraim spent the early part of the week in Midvale, visiting: his daughter, Mrs. Paul Stokes. Mr. and Mrs. George W. Cox, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Fotheringham of West Jordan, were at Fish Lake for the week-end and Monday. In compliment to Mrs. Paul Stokes, a bride of the summer, Mrs. Mary B. Stokes entertained a number of relatives Saturday of last week. Games were played and the prizes were won by Mrs. Wash Boberg, Mrs. D. R. Boberg, Mrs. H. E. Phelps and Mrs. J. M. Despain. The guests were Mrs. Iner Larson, Mrs. Wesley Sadler, Miss Dorothy Green of Magna, Mrs. A. L. Stokes and daughters, Winona and Maurine, of Murray; Mrs. Tom Sadler of Copperton, Mrs. H. E. Phelps, Mrs. Arthur Richardson, Miss Clarice Malstrom, Mrs. J. M. Despain, Mrs. Paul Stokes of Midvale, Mrs. N. 0. Boberg, Mrs. L .•E. Peterson, Mrs. W. 0. Boberg of Sandy, Mrs. Sarah Despain of Granite, Mrs. Carrie Sadler and Mrs. D. R. Boberg of Draper, Miss Carrie Hansen and Mrs. 0. C. LeCuyer of Salt Lake. Fall flowers were used to decorate the rooms, and refreshments were served on small tables. Mrs. C. J. Cammack of Salt Lake viisted with her mother, Mrs. L. M. Kemp, Wednesday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Clark and daughter, Ellen, entertained at a dinner party Thursday evening of last week. Games, dancing and music were enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Beckstead of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Latimer, Mr. and Mrs. S. Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bloomfield, Mr. and Mrs. Neils Margetts, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Rosell, Mrs. N. Colbert, Mrs. N. Bert, Mrs. E. Beyers, Mrs. E. Raimers, all of the Auerbach company of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mitchell, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Henry and daughter Betty, of Magna, left Thursday evening for a ten days' outing at Fish Lake. A son was born Monday to Mr. and Mrs. Ephriam Jackson at their home on Seventh avenue. Mother and baby are doing nicely. Here are two proud exhibitors who are waf:ching for the annual pet stoCk and dog show which ls a feature of the State Fair each year. The pet stock show will be held Monday, October 5. These two klddies are quite sure that the parrot and dbg w ill win prizes. NOTICE OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION, CITY OF MIDVALE CITY, SALT LAKE COUNTY, STATE OF UTAH. Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the 28th day of October, 1930, a special election will be held within the limits of the City of Midvale City, County of Salt Lake and State of Utah, for the purpose of submitting to such qualified electors of said City as shall have paid a property tax therein in the year next preceding such election, the following proposition, to-wit: Shall the negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Midvale City, County of Salt Lake and State of Utah, in the sum of One Hundred Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($125,000.00), payable in not to exceed forty ( 40) years from the date of their issue and bearing interest at the rate of not to exceed six per cent (6%) per annum, be issued and sold for the purpose of raising funds to defray the expense of increasing, improving, enlarging and extending the present water supply and waterworks system of the City of Midvale City, County of Salt Lake, State of Utah, for the purpose of adequately supplying said City and the inhabitants thereof with water, said waterworks system to be owned and controlled by said municipality? At said election the form of ballot shall be as follows: BOND ELECTION BALLOT For the Issue of YES ( ) Water Bonds NO ( ) At said election the polls shall be opened at the hour of 7:00 o'clock A. M. and close at the hour of 7:00 o'clock P. M. The voting place for all qualified electors of said City in District No. 308 shall be at the City Hall at No. 68 South Main Street in said City of Midvale City and the judges of election at said polling place shall be Niels Lind, Charles Canning and Thomas Forman. The voting place of all qualified electors of said City in District No. 307 shall be at the office of the Midvale Journal at No. 136 North Main Street in said City of Midvale City and the judges of election at said polling place shall be Marlin Thomas, Alexander Beckstead and Neil Anderson. Carter visited relatives in Santaquin this week. The Y. M. and Y. L. M. I. A. held their opening party Tuesday evening of last week with a dance and melon bust. There were 150 served. Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Bodell and family were the guests of Mrs. Hannah Rhodes of American Fork during the week. The Primary teachers and officers entertained at a children's dance Thursday afternoon and a dance in the evening for adults. Refreshments JUST COME TO were served. Covers were laid for twenty-five guests. The Parent-Teachers association held its opening party Friday evening in the auditorium. A program was rendered and refreshments were served.
