The Boy Scouts held their hike Thursday morning in Butterfield canyon. They also did their good will by delivering Thanksgiving baskets to some of the Widows Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Miller entertained at their home Monday evening. Music was enjoyed and games were played. A late luncheon was served to Mr. and Mrs. Glen Freeman, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wood, Pat Dotson of Minersville and Mr. and Mrs. Miller. Bateman and their athletic manager, Dell Smith, left Monday for a weeks trip to Cedar City and other places of interest where they will play ball with several leading teams of the M. I. A. and high schools. A farewell party was given in their honor friday night the following program was enjoyed: Invocation, Glen Smith; Cornet solo, J. C. Richards; instrumental duet, Alice and Raymond Hogan; reading, Gale Johnson; short talk, James A. Bateman; duet, Leo and Elton Palmer; "Chips", P. T. Bateman; remarks, Dell Smith and Wilford Egbert, dancing and refreshments were enjoyed. La Mar Burkinshaw, Gwenevier Hand and Ardell Lloyd were guests of Miss Berniece Bateman Sunday evening. Miss Ona Shields of South Jordan and Miss Rheabell Butterfield of Riverton have returned home after spending two months at West Jordan. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Goff have bought the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vere Gardner and have moved back to make their home here. Mrs. Lloyd Goff and son, M~x. and Mrs. Hugh Finlayson spent Friday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Goff. Miss Emma Gardner and Grace Squire joined a party of friends and spent Thursday evening at Bingham. Mr. and Mrs. David Gardner and baby of Idaho Falls are visiting with Mr. Gardners mother, Mrs. Rousell Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Olson and family motored to Salt Lake Thursday evening and attended the Orph-eum theatre. Walter Shepard of Hoytsville spent Thanksgiving here. He was special gr.1est of Miss Gladys Rundquist. Mr. and Mrs. Goodro of Salt Lake were guests of Mrs. Gertrude Squire Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Goff spent Thanksgiving at Grantsville with Mr. Goffs parents, Mr and Mrs. Wilford Goff. Mrs. Armand Rundquist entertained at a dinner party Thursday of last week in honor of her daughter Glady's birthday anniversary. Mrs. 0. H. Bateman and baby Gale, of Magna and Earnie Simmons of Draper spent Sunday as ~ests of Mrs. Lydia Bateman. Miss Edna Shulsen who is teaching school at Glendale spent part of last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Shulsen. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peterson and baby Kendall spent Thursday as dinner guests of their mother, Mrs. Stella Peterson. Friday December the thirteenth the West Jordan Stake Primary will give a program consisting of musical numbers and dialogue at the South Jordan chaple. Everybody invited, there will be a small charge of 25 and 15 cents. Mrs. Clyde Swensen of Sandy and Mrs. Olive Sharp of East Midvale were guests of Mrs. Wallace Bateman Friday, Mr and Mrs. Bert Bateman of Salt Lake were guests at the Bateman home Sunday evening. |
