Ballard, veteran Beetdigger mentor, realized one of his fondest ambitions, last Friday night, when his team defeated the Bingham Miners, 37-24 at Jordan. Until Friday, no Jordan high team nor any other district squad, had evef pull-ed the trick of defeating the VIiners twice in a season. Although 3allard's squad is the first team to lCcomplish the feat, it is probable t.hat Bingham will lose more pre~ Uge when they tackle Murray at :durray, Friday. The game at Jordan was far from oeing a battle. Jordan at the start ooJc a le:nd and held it. The scores at the different periods read: 16-4, ~0-lU, 29-14 and 37-21, all for Jordan. Cyprus crumbled before the on•laught of the Murray high bas~{eteers. Cyprus could not hold the 1hatnpions' margin to less than 23. Hulse, Murray center, led the Smel~ terites by garnering 11 of their 43 la.l)ies. The game ended 43-20. Grantsville, although they were classed the underdog, slipped through with a peppery win over Tooele, 3330. Hale made 13 points for the winners. Gerald Lunnen climbed bnck into the district scoring race by making 15 tallies In the Jordan-Min er affair. Ltmnen labored under the strain of a very painful leg muscle, better known as a "Charley Horse"; nevertheless his play was skillful. The score: • JORDAN G. T. F. P.
