Those present were Mrs. Carolina Allred, Mrs. Eva Borg, Mrs. Ellen Gustavson, Mrs. CJI.rolina Larson, Mrs. Zelia Denney, Mrs. Betty Webster, Mrs. Margaret Allsop, Mrs. Nellie Black, Mrs. Mary Jensen, Mrs. Irene Jensen and Mrs. Clara Larson, Mrs. Sophrona Bateman had as dinner guests last Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Bateman and son Ronald, and Mrs. David Arnold and daughter of Logan, and Mrs. Lavere Adams and daughters, Beth and Vera Rae, of Lehi. Mrs. Gladys Gardner, sister of Ed F. Bishop, left Monday to visit with her mother in Hinckley. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Alsop and daughters, Elaine and Audrey, of Tooele, spent the week-end the guests of Mr and Mrs. Myrle Alsop and family. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Peery and son and daughter, Elden and Marie, of Springville; Mrs. Lowell Chatwin and daughter Lois, and Mrs. Marion Cox of Mammoth were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Richard~: at their home on Main street. MrB. Chatwin and Mrs. Cox are visiting this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richards. Cleo Lunberg, who recently returned from the California mission, and Mr. Higgins, who has also recently returned from the California mission, were the speakers at sacrament meeting in the First ward, Sunday. The M. I. A. of the Second ward enjoyed their closing social at Pepper's hill, Monday evening. Games were played and refreshments enjoyed. Mrs. A. Nelson entertained at her home recently, honoring the birthday anniversary of her husband. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Anderson and his son and wife, of Granger; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Larson. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Nels A. Nelson of Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Silas Brady entertained at a dancing and swimming party at Saratoga Springs, last Wednesday evening. Those present from Sandy Included Mr. and Mrs. Duane Richards and Mr. and Mrs. Muriel Alsop. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Tolman and sons, of Salt Lake, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Boulter. Miss Elva Cowley of Salt Lake spent the week-end at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Oldham. Mr. and Mrs. Nels A. Nelson had as their guests two days last week, Mrs. Nelson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Heber S. Crump of Herriman. The cooking class of the 4-H club under the direction of Miss Vera Greenwood, enjoyed a canyon party. Friday. Those present were the Misses Wanda McBride, lola Rawson, Luana Jensen, Faye Potter, Flora Tolman, Alice and Vera Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Ostler and famlily were visitors Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. H. Bodell of Herriman. Mrs. Myrtle Alsop entertained at a dinner at her home on Main street, Sunday, honoring the birthday anniversary of her husband. Out-of-town guests Included Mr. and Mrs. P. T. Bateman and daughter Joy, Mrs. Zelia Holt of West Jordan, and Mr. and Verlin Bateman and children of Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. L. Hewlett entertained the Just-a-mere club at their home last Tuesday evening. Dinner was serve<i on small tables. A color scheme of pink was carried out, with pink vases of pink flowers forming the centerpiece of each table, and pink favors. Progressive rook was played and prizes won by Mrs. Hyrum Jacobson and Mrs. J. T. Ostler, Henry Hendrickson and L. E. Van Dam. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Van Dam, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. THE MIDVALE JOURNAL last week the guest of Mr. and M1 s. Harold Bradley and family. Paul Peacock of Manti is spending this week at the Btadley home. Miss Lorna Voorhees of Manti spent the week-end with her sister, Mrs. J. M. Woodhouse. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lindell left last week for their home in California, after visiting with their parents and other relatives the past two weeks. Mrs. J. W. Farrer left Tuesday of last week for Minnesota, where she is visiting with her son. She is expected to return home some time this week. The First ward Primary gave an operetta, "The Music Makers," at the ward chapel last Wednesday evening for the benefit of the L. D. S. Children's hospital. The Third Quomm of Elders and their partners enjoyed a party at the ward chapel last Thursday evening. ames were played and refreshments served. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Ostler visited with Grafton Bowles at the county hospital, Sunday. Mr. Bowles hal! spent the past four months at the hospital, following an operation on his leg. The marriage of Alice Griffith and Evan 0. Jensen took place on Friday at the Salt Lake temple. Mr. an<l Mrs. Jensen left Saturday for Idaho, where they will visit for a week. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Boulter entertained at their home, Tuesday, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Charles Earhart and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Nelson of Draper. Salt Lake, formerly of Union, will be interested to know she Is leaving in the near future to spend the summer in Europe. Mrs. Harold Berrett and children of Riverton visited in Union, Sunday. Mrs. Robert Wallace, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Manka, is reported to be slowly improving at the L. D. S. hospital, where she has been confined the past two months. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Proctor and children of Tooele visited Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. George Proctor. Mr. and Mrs. John Hardman motored to Woodruff and spent the week-end with relatives. Miss Afton Knowlan is visiting in Park City with her aunt, Mrs. Offet. Mrs. Cecil Brown and daughter, Dorothy, were dinner guests Wednes· day of Mrs. Clyde Proctor.
