Midvale, Utah UNION Mrs. Elmo Boggess very charmingly entertained at a Valentine party Friday evening of last week honoring her daughter and members of her class, the ninth grade of the Union school. Valentine suggestions were used as the color scheme in the decorations throughout. Games and dancing were enjoyed, and a late supper was served. Covers were laid for twenty-six. Mrs. Reuben Forbush returned Tuesday evening from the St. Mark's hospital, where shereports underwent an operation. , At last she was doing as well as could be expected. Mrs. Alma Erickson and little daughter Darlene spent Monday and Tuesday with Mrs. Ralph S. Erickson of Salt Lake. Mrs. Mary Graham, Mrs. Alice Burgon, Mrs. Ella Fox and Mrs. Gertie Despain motored to Springville Wednesday of last week and spent the day with Mrs. Agalla Pack, honoring her twentieth birthday. ported to be very sick at a local hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Thayne and baby of Provo were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Greenwood. Miss Veda Thayne is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Thayne of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Bushnell entertained at a Valentine party Saturday evening of last week. Games were played and c:ainty refreshments were served to 12 guests. Mrs. Ivy IGrickflon and little daughter, Darlene, of Union, spent Friday afternoon with Mrs. Charles Thornton. Marion Ashment Orpha Soffe, Ruby Pate and Edn'a Glover of East Midvale,. members of the Charlonian club of the Jordan High, attended a party given by the club members at the Jordan High school Saturday evening of last week. Games, dancing and refreshments were enjoyed. Mrs. Semira Goff visited the first of the week with Mrs. D. Dowding of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jensen and children and Mr. and Mrs. Orson Jensen visited Monday evening of last week with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jensen of copperton. Mrs. H. c. Manka has as her guest this week her Sherman. Mrs.mother, ShermanMrs. has James spent the winter in California and is en route to her home in Idaho. Mrs. Orson Jensen ·was taken to the L. D. S. hospital last week, suffering with eye trouble. At last reports she was improving. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Millerberg and Mrs. R. H. Sharp were Salt Lake visitors Wednesday evening. Sunday school conference was held Sunday morning with an attendance of 222. Stake board members were in attendance. Sunday evening the Primary association held their conference. A very interesting program was carried out and Mrs. John Shaw, l'IIrs. Charles Schmidt and Mrs. Bennion, members of the stake board, were present. Relief society conference convened Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Elfreda Jensen, Mrs. Lucy Godfrey and Mrs. Nora Pederson and Mr. Andrews, advisory high councilman, of Draper, were in attendance. Tuesday evening at 7:30 the M. I. A. conference was held. President Heber J. Burgon, C. I. Goff, Bert Andrews, Stanley Rasmussen, Mark Greenwood, Arlondo Ballard, Mabel Larsen, Ella Richardson and Grace Whitmore were in attendance. All meetings have been well attended and enjoyed. The regular general ward conference will be held Sunday evening at 7:30. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Beckstead of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Jensen, Carol and r.'arel Jensen of \Vest Jordan, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Reading and Mrs. \Valter Jenkins motored to American Fork Sunday and visited with Mrs. John Titcomb and family. Mrs. A. A. Larson, assisted by Mrs. Harold Larson, entertained Tuesday at a children's party for her son Veldon on his ninth birthday anniversary. Fifteen guests were present and were served at the dining table which was centered by a beautifully trimmed birthday cake. Games were played at small tables. Mrs. Aaron Horne entertained Thursday evening at her home on Center street. Bridge was played at three tables. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Aylett entertained guests at luncheon Wednesday. They were Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Vincent of Los Angeles, Calif., who are here on a visit; Mrs. D. H. Vincent of Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Erbach of Long Beach, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. 0. n. Beeney entertained a number of friends Tuesday evening on the occasion of Mr. Deeney's birthday anniversary. Music, dancing and games were enjoyed. A late supper was served to sixteen guests. . Mrs. Kelvin W. Aylett was hostess to members of her club last Thursday afternoon at her home in the Iris apartments. Mrs. H. B. Daines was a special guest. High scores were won by Mrs. J. M. Warner and Mrs. J. F. Stuart. Mrs. D. A. Drown, Mrs. A. A. Larson, Mrs. J. A. Alcorn, Mrs. H. E. Phelps and Mrs. R. R. Fenn were guests of Mrs. Lou Greenig of Salt Lalte, Friday. Mrs. H. E. Phelps entertained members of her contract bridge club Thursday at her apartment on Main street. Those from out-of-town were Mrs. Frank Hart, Mrs. A. W. Stibich and Mrs. Lucas of Salt Lake. Mrs. Fred A. Cooper of South Jordan spent 'l'hursday with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Beckstead, it being her birthday anniversary. H. C. Egbert, who underwent an operation for appendicitis recently at a Salt Lake hospital, is home again and recovering favorably. ' The cooking demonstration held in the Second ward Relief society rooms Tuesday was very well attended. Mrs. Frank Briggs of Park City, former resident here, was in Midvale Sunday and Monday and was entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Peterson. Mrs. W. Alger was hostess to the L. F. A. club Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lancaster of West Jordan announce the birth of a daughter, Feb1·uary 10. Mother and babe are at the Midvale Maternity home. Monday evening at her home in West Jordan, Miss Laura Gardner enteltained at a bridge dinner.
