P. C. Christensen spent two weeks during the week at Richfield visiting. Mrs. Hans B. Jensen, Mrs. Franklin Peterson, Misses Zelma, Phyllis and Rheabel Butterfield and Miss Nona and Miss Jensen were entertained by Mrs. Clarence Palmer at her home at West Jordan, Friday. Miss Fay Sorensen of Bingham spent the week as guest at the I?rme of Mr. and Mrs. John Rin<Disbach. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Gentry and family of Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Gentry of Salt Lake, Mrs. George Long of Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Dell Nell of Lark were guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Maynard during the week. Mrs. J. w. McCloud of Tooele spent several days during the week as guest of Mr. and Mrs. w. T. Silcock. Mrs. Alonzo Madsen and children of Garfield spent the week as guests of Mrs. J. s. Ferrell and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Webster entertained at dinner Sunday in honor of Mrs. Charles F. Myers, it being her birthday ann ! versary. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Butterfield have moved into their new home on Redwood. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Silcock and daughters, Mrs. Vina Bills, Mrs. oGlda Gamble and Mrs. J. W. MeCloud of Tooele formed a party and spent Sunday in Big Cottonwood. canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Page announce the birth of a son at the Cottonwood Maternity home, Wednesday, July 30. Miss lola Maynard spent the weekend in Salt Lake, the guest of her sister, Mrs. A. L. Gentry. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burton and baby of Evanston, Wyo., spent the week-end as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Beratto. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Egbert entertained at their home Sunday in honor of her mother, Mrs. Annie May Myers. Luncheon was served to fourteen guests. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lancaster and baby of West Jordan were their guests Monday. Mrs. Vina Bills entertained at dinner last Thursday in honor of Shere! Gamble of American Fork. Covers were laid for ten. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. McCloud and Mr. and Mrs. \V. T. Silcock and daughter, Utahna, spent last Wednesday in Salt Lake visiting. FerTell Silcock, while working for the county, hauling gravel, suffered a broken leg in a cave-in. The First ward Primary officers entertained at a party at the ward house Thursday in honor of the children. Refreshments were seryed to 100 children. Little Helen Myers, daughter of Bishop and Mrs. Wilford J. Myers, was burned on the hands and neck very badly last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. John I. Wiberg entertained in honr of Carl Wiberg and daughter, Louise. Refreshments were served to 18. j Mr. and Mrs. Fred May and family and Mrs. Isabell Romney of Salt Lake spnet last Wednesday in Cottonwood canyon. Sixty members of the Commercial club were entertained at a banq1,.1et at the Second ward amusemel?-t hall Wednesday night, under the d1rection of the Riverton First and Second ward Y. L. M. I. A. officers. SOUTH JORDAN M. I. A. conjoint meeting was held last Sunday evening. The following program was rendered: Opening song by congregation, "Praise to the Man;" Frank Edge! offered the opening prayer; the congregation sang, "Zion Is Growing;" Miss Grace Peterson rendered a vocal solo; James Hansen led the new slogan; James A. Bateman of West Jordan was the speaker for the evening; Morris Newsolo, "Hold bold furnished 1 · d " athvocal e c osmg song was Thou MY Han ; "Marching Homeward;" Urban MeMullin offered the closing prayer. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Newbold and son, Stewart, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Beckstead enjoyed breakfast and dinner in Little Cottonwood canyon, Sunday. Mrs. Rela Bateman spent Sunday at Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rindlisbach and daughters, Jane and Joyce, of Bingham, were guests of Mrs. Mary Ann Beckstead, Sunday. Hyrum Holt spent one day visiting with his sister, Ann, who is laboring in the mission field at Denver, Colo. Misses Catherine and Marinda Beckstead visited with Mrs. Jesse Rawlins at Bingham, last Friday. Mrs. Morris Butterfield and children, Colleen and Boyd, of Herriman, spent last Saturday visiting with Mrs. Helen Beckstead . Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Ovard and family spent last week in Wyoming. Mrs. Mary Ann Beckstead and Mr. and Mrs. Sari Beckstead were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Rindlisbach at Bingham, Monday evening. Marinda and Desna Beckstead and Marie and Bernice Holt furnished the musical part of the program at the Bennion ward last Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Urban McMullin, Mr . and Mrs. W. H. Newbold, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Beckstead, Essie and Reola Holt, and Les and Morris Newbold left last Wednesday evening for a fishing trip to Blacksfork, Wyo., where they will spend a week. The Shields reunion will be held at West Jordan, August 15. The dance in the pavilion will be open to the public. Monday evening the following friends were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. R.
