Attended public schools in Parker and St. Anthony, Idaho, graduating from St. Anthony High School. One year of high school was spent at Jordan High School in Salt Lake City. She came to Manti in the to work for her cousin, Vilda Vawry as a waitress in the old Savoy Hotel. Married Alvin Owen Anderson May 24, 1939 in Salt Lake City. Marriage later solemnized in Manti LDS Temple. Active in LDS Church, serving in Young Womens Mutual and Relief Society. I lusband died Dec. 5, 1966. Moved to Tempe, Arizona to live with her son, Barry, in 1991. Survived by a brother, Ivan R. Miller ( I lelen)of Rexburg. She also said that if other citizens wished to be a part of this group, they would be welcome. Mrs. Madsen said that the Youth Council and the Beautification Committee would appreciate any suggestions from the community regarding projects for involvement of this group. She was born December 17, 1911 in Manti, Utah, the daughter of David Francis and Petrea Steck Shand. She was a graduate of Manti High School and attended business school in Denver, Colorado. She then moved to San Francisco with her sister. Alta, in 1940.
