Captain O', Super I lero, visited their class. 1 he students made 101 Dalmatians and they participated in lots of learning activities centering on the 0. On Friday, Feb. 6th, Bruce Blackham from Utah Power and Light came to the school and gave safety lectures to each grade. The children were taught about electrical safety and especially how to be safe w ith their kites. I here were several demonstrations on what would happen if they tried to get their kites out of a power line. Representatives from the Space Museum, at Hill Al B. came to the school on Feb. 10th. I hey presented special science workshops to the 4th and 5th grade classes. There was a RIF Book Distribution on Wednesday, Teb. 1th. The students were able to choose a book to take home to add to their collections. The Manti Elementary School Spelling Bee for the 4th and 5th graders was on the afternoon of Feb. 11th. Five winners from MES will compete in the District Spelling Bee on Teb. 18, at 7:30 p.m., 1 at the Gunnison Elementary School. Valentines's Day will be celebrated on Thursday, Teb. 12th. The classes will have their parties and exchange their valentines in the morning and school will be dismissed at 12 noon for parent teacher conferences. There will be no school on Triday, Feb. 13th, for Parent Teacher Conferences and on Monday, Feb. 16th. to celebrate Presidents Day. housing contracts for student housing owners, as well as affecting local businesses as the peak time for college student customers and employees shifts. As a result of a Utah State Board of Regents decision, all state colleges and universities, including Snow College, will use a semester calendar beginning in the fall of 1998. For Snow, this means k converting from three sessions of class to two ten-wee- sessions.
