Show e "l 1 y 'Olf'i f en n i Messenger-Enterpris- Obituaries Reunions Lincoln Sudweeks in the Carlos Sudweeks Joint funeral services for Carlos Jay Sudweeks, 60, and Ralph Lincoln Sudweeks, 50, were held July 21 at 11 in the Salt Lake Riverside Stake Center. The two men were drowned July 18, 1978, in Rockport Reservoir. Carlos Jay Sudweeks was born Oct. 21, 1917 in Ephraim to Carlos Otto and Katie Lenora Jensen Sudweeks. He married Alva Marie Nielson June 5, 1940, in the Manti LDS Temple. He was Sunday School president and a high priest in the 29th LDS Ward in Salt Lake City. Survivors are his wife, his mother, a son, Brent Sudweeks, and four Mrs. Daryl daughters, (Barbara) Frame, Mrs. Edward (Karen) White, Mrs. Mary Edwards, Cindy Sudweeks, all of Salt Lake City, and seven grandchildren. Ralph Lincoln Sudweeks was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Ephraim to Carlos Otto and Katie Lenora Jensen Sudweeks. He married Utahna Hansen, July 18, 1949, in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a member of the Rosedale LDS Ward, served as served a scoutmaster, stake mission to the North 13th Ward, He was a member of the Teamsters Local 222. Survivors include his wife, mother; one son, Kenneth Ralph Sudweeks, two daughters, Mrs. Judy Jessop; Mrs. Marshal (Leslie) Boehme, all of Salt Lake City, and three grandchildren. The brothers are also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Onelta) Messina, Roselle, N.J.; Mrs. Charles (Leola) Pettersson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lamar (Bonnie) Butier, Lavan; Mrs. Wally (Jean) Conover, Holiday, Fla. Findlay, long time resident of Smoot, Wyo., passed away July 27, 1978, in Orem, Utah, with members of his family at his bedside. Mr. Findlay is the father of Ross Findlay of Ephraim. He was born Oct. 28, 1887 at Fish Haven, Idaho, the oldest child of Hugh W. Findlay Sr., and Agnes Frances Howell. He attended school in Fish Haven and Paris, Idaho, where he graduated from the Fielding Academy in 1910. He taught school for three years in St. Charles, Idaho. On July 6, 1912 he married Gertrude Peterson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In 1914 they moved to Smoot, Wyoming. He was a member of the school board of District 19 for 9 years, clerk of the board for 6 years and president of the board for 1 year. He served as a member of the Star Valley Stake High Council for 10 years and on Sept. 22, 1929 was ordained as bishop of the Smoot Ward, where he served for 14 years. In 1961 he and his wife served a six months mission for the LDS Church, most of that time in Paducah, Kentucky. their They celebrated golden wedding in Smoot on July 6, 1962, and for five years spent their winters working in the Temple in Logan, their summers in Star Valley. After her death in 1968, he continued to do temple work as long as he was able. He is survived by five sons, three daughters, 44 grandchildren, 49 greatgrandchildren and two Ninety-on- e descendants of the Andrew and Marie Mickelson family met at the Manti City Park Saturday for their 22nd annual family reunion. and DeLyle Ralph Mickelson of Ogden w ere in charge of the reunion. Family members from as far as Birmingham, Ala., Glendora, Ca., and Soda Springs, Idaho, were in attendance. Next years reunion w ill be under the direction of Ernest and Nora Mickelson, who are presently in Cumberland, Ken., fulfilling an LDS Mission. Family members of J. Hatten Carpenter met at the Lindsey Gardens, 9th Ave., 7th East, Salt Lake City July 29 to enjoy a family reunion. Fifty members were present. To J.
