Show Ephraim Seniors Lecturer Enjoy Outing Will DiscilSS enthusiastic group of An ''S'WPS'V Dinosaurs Ephraim Seniors met in a beautiful mountainous, wooded setting in Nephi canyon on Friday afternoon. They enjoyed and a a chicken dinner delightful program. Mrs. Ruth Justeson supervised the meal and Helen Rigby arranged for the program. Bryan Russell, Leisa Higbee Dr l imes Collinson Ohio Slate University department studies supplied their own accompaniment on their guitars. Many of the party goers returned home in time to attend the Glade Peterson concert at Snow College that evening. Canyon. Six-Mi- Tree Falls on Truck In Freak Accident The afternoon of July 24th missed Chips mother became anxious and called the children to return. As they turned to return there was a snapping and popping sound among the the Walter Wintch and Reed Scow families plus Ernest and Ruth Scow decided to take their dinner to the canyon. They took two trucks and drove up e Canyon to picnic near the Ard Wintch deer camp. Upon arrival there the camp was in the sunshine so they crossed the creek to the shade of the pines and aspens. The trucks were parked with Walters truck about 10 feet from the tree line. While dinner was in preparation Walt, Ernest and Reed stretched out in the shade of the towering trees and commented about the aspens and how old they might be. After dinner a small bonfire was made so that marshmallows could be roasted. Everyone gathered about the fire old except five-yea- r Chip Ruth Wintch and Ann Scow. They went for a walk down a little road that passed through the trees. As soon as the children were huge trees and h diameter aspen began to fall. As it did, it hit another tree which began to topple too. This last tree fell in front of the truck while the second tree landed on the hood of the truck. The two children stood still and w'atched the commotion of falling trees and flying limbs which fell just a few feet from Six-Mil- three-year-ol- a where they were standing--otherwis- e they would have been directly in the path of the first falling tree. The right door of the truck was open but the front of the truck took the brunt of the falling tree. The right side of the cab folded neatly even with the trucks dashboard. The windshield drapes in myriad small cracks and pieces. The fender and the hood were badly damaged while a camper shell d on the back of the truck was untouched. Walt was able to drive his battered truck to Manti while everyone crowded into Reeds truck for the ride home, each thankful in their hearts that all were together and unhurt. Another thing it is better for me to have this in my leg than in my arm because I can sleep all day or read, but with my arm I knit so much. I am happy anyway. I go some times to my daughter Nelly home and some time to Heidi home at Mayfield. They are so nice to me and their husbands and children too. If I am in good health next year, I will go back to the Pageant. In 1972 apostle Mark Peterson send letter to me and said, the Mormon Miracle Pageant is a great missionary work. So it Is in this spirit that I go but the Devil try to make me stop, but he will not have success. For all thanks very much I pray the Lord to bless everyone. France Puenzieux 283-41- in Manti.
