Show k l 2 MANTI MESSENGER Thursday, March 27, 1975 Medical Technician Course hi To Begin at Snow College Explain Objectives To comply with the new laws governing ambulance service in the state, a course for emergency medical technicians will The course begin in will include 77 hours of emergency training. Such subjects as anatomy, respiration, fractures, poisoning, child birth, eye injuries, medical emergencies, ambulance procedures, extracation and rescue will be offered using simulated experiences and situations as learning devices. Physicians and specially trained personnel will be brought in for this course. To cover manuals and other costs to the individuals, a fee of $30 is requested for admission to the program. Fees will be col mid-Apr- E.M.T. student practicing on a dummy. I il. lected only after an application has been accepted. Any male or female over the age of 18 is eligible to apply. The course is open to citizens in Millard, Juab and Sanpete counties who are willing to staff community ambulance services. Firemen, police of- ficers and sheriffs posses are also welcome to apply. Alateen Group Organized , Alateen group, those in the 12 to 20 age group who live in an alcoholic family situation--wi- ll hold their first meeting Monday night at 8 in the Ephraim City Hall. The young Alateens issued the following statement: The Alateen groups are made up of children of problem drinkers who find that meeting with other children of alcoholics is helpful. We realize that even though the alcoholic may have joined AA, and the joined we, as their children, can play an important part in reuniting the family. We urge you to try our program. In Alateen we have A meetings. Our sole topic is the solution of our own problems. We will always be grate new learned to become individuals. We try to realize that alcoholism is a disease. In studying the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, we learn to accept the fact that we are powerless over alcohol and that we can develop the ability to detach ourselves emotionally from our parents problems, while continuing to love them. Our changed attitude may inspire the alcoholic to seek help which may eventually lead him or her to A. A. so there is no need for discouragement even though the alcoholic may still be drinking. No clues will be hidden in news columns, editorial matter or classified ads, just in display ads of the sponsoring merchants in this section and elsewhere in the paper 1. This is a family contest. Entries are welcome from every member of the family old enough to fill out their own entry. Anyone may enter except employees of the paper or members of their immediate families. You may submit one entry per person at any of the sponsoring merchants whose ads appear in the left hand side of this ad below the arrow. 2. Nothing to buy, use any slip of paper for entry blank. Not necessary to be present to win. Not necessary to be a subscriber to the paper. to 3. The Mystery Personality may be anyone in the Manti, Ephraim, Sterling area. Clues include which of in the may merchants, the ads ONLY hidden be will sponsoring his identity in the paper. Many ads have no clue; any of the same merchants in the area below or elsewhere some as many as five. This is a contest of skill and we intend to do our best to outwit you. 4. To enter, write the name of the person you believe to be the Mystery Personality on a piece of paper. Also list all the clues you can find in all the ads of sponsoring merchants. Put . and telephone number. Mailed entries will not be accepted, they must be placed in the entry boxes located at one or more of the designated merchants for that week. Dont bring entries to the paper office, please. 5. This week's contest starts when you receive this issue of the paper and closes Saturday night of the same week when the stores close. 6. As soon as the boxes are picked up (Monday morning) a drawing will be held from the down your name and address combined entries. The first entry drawn that correctly identifies the Mystery Personality will win a $7.50 Merchant Certificate. If that entry also lists all the clues, and no more, hidden a BONUS of a $14.50 Merchant Certificate in the various ads of the sponsoring merchants, will be added. Whenever this BONUS is not won, it will be added to the next weeks bonus which will continue to grow until it is won. All Merchant Certificates must be used within one week from the time the winner is notified and can only be redeemed at one of the sponsoring merchants stores. The contest will run for 16 weeks.
